Herbert Scheurich,A terracotta bust of a horned man, 1973incised 'S73', 15cm;together with a circular plaque incised with a horned face,15cm diam (2)Herbert Scheurich was a German artist who's work and name became seen by millions on a daily basis through his prolific newspaper print cartoons and illustrations. In 1957 he was awarded the Joseph Drexel Priz for his contribution to the Press, for whom he published works in over 200 German titles. Scheurich was much more than a tabloid cartoonist, as the works offered here demonstrate. His accomplished hand, and diversity in output, from pastels, to pen and ink drawings, even to clay and terracotta sculpture often displaying his whit and humour.

H HUGHES (19th century); oil on canvas, 'Mrs H Pritchard Bryngola', a half portrait of a woman wearing a bonnet, titled and inscribed to the verso 'H Hughes Pinxit 1840', 77 x 65cm, unframed. CONDITION REPORT: Several tears to the canvas with losses of paint, extensive grazing to the area around the face and bust, large of fine flaking particularly to the lower left, areas of dirt and damp.
A circa 1900 German Sitzendorf porcelain figure group of three women in foliate scroll mould and floral transfer decorated chariot pulled by two winged lionesses, marked to base, length 48cm (af). CONDITION REPORT: One of the winged lionesses is badly af, with major loss to one of the wings which has been broken off but present and major part of the body crudely reglued, the other with loss to the right paw and several areas of regluing and restorations, one of the ladies to the back of the chariot with extensive restoration to upper part including bust and hair, traces of regluing to the wheels.
SAMPSON MORDAN & CO; a Victorian hallmarked silver cylindrical scent bottle overall engraved with foliate scroll, centred with a circular cartouche initialled EP to the hinged lid enclosing glass lined interior with stopper, with suspension chain, London 1883, height 5cm, also a silver circular pill box embossed with bust of young woman to the detachable lid, Arthur Willmore Pennington, Birmingham 1903, weighable silver approx 0.3ozt (2). CONDITION REPORT: Chips to glass interior, the lid closes tightly, there are some dents to the rim with light surface wear.
