A French silver medal - obverse with female bust facing right and marked Lorraine 1870-1914, reverse with foliate decoration above vacant panel, approx 3.3 cm (diameter) and a white metal medal by Max Immelmann, signed, obverse bust of Oberleutnant Oswald Boelcke, full face slightly inclined to left looking right, in uniform, with laurel branch positioned at left, reverse Fokker monoplane, E-type, flying in a cloud filled sky, below which and to the right a biplane descending in flames and in the distance, on the ground, a factory and buildings. At the base of the design an aeroplane propeller, two bladed, positioned horizontally above an ornate scroll-edged exergue line. Perched at either end of the propeller an eagle, each holding in its beak the respective ends of a laurel garland which is ornamentally draped around the propeller exergue, scribed 'Wo Mut und Kraft in Deutscher Seele Flammen 1914-1916' both very fine - Est £40 - £60
