19th Century Italian School after the AntiqueA 19th Century white and Sienna marble Bust of "Gaius Julius Caesar," after the Antique, the shoulder armour carved in high relief, raised on a socle base, with inscription, approx. 66cms (26") high, mounted on a heavy and highly decorated "Coalbrookdale" tri-form stand, embellished with foliage and C scrolls, approx. 109cms (43") high. He worked in insurance in London and was a keen art collector, notably of 20th Century Italian paintings and sculpture. After Felix Lecomte (French 1737-1817) a bronze bust of Marie Antoinette: portrayed with hair tied up and adorned with flowers, her head turned slightly to dexter, a medallion cast with a profile of King Louis XVI hung at her decolletage, on a waisted socle and polished marble base, overall height 33.5cm.

A facing portrait bust of Ghazi ud-din Haidar Shah, wearing a crown with jewel to the front and to each point, small plume to the top. Ermin robe with chain of rosettes connected to the shoulders by ribbons; pearl and jewelled choker to the neck. The bust in a gilt oval medallion frame with interlinked geometric floral motifs; crown to the top flanked by fish and birds.
