Manner of PATRIC PARK RSA ARSA (Scottish, 1811-1855) Bust of a young lady Sculpture in white marble, incised verso "PARK LONDN 1846", 71cm tall Conditoion Report:Dirty areas and needs cleaned. Chips to the front of the lady's shirt at mast prominent area. Small chip to the quilt at the arm. Other than that in pretty good order.
A late 18th/early 19th century French marble bust of Hercules wearing lion head cowl on turned circular socle base, height approx 48cm (af). Provenance: from Sutton Place, Guildford, a Tudor Mansion built by Sir Richard Weston and later purchased by the Duke of Sutherland in 1919 and J Paul Getty in 1959.Additional InformationSome repaired and/or replaced sections including nose, cowl interior, centre front of cowl, lower left section of cowl featuring the teeth and with further scuffs and scrapes to reverse including a chip to left reverse with further nibbles. The right section of the cowl featuring the teeth has also been off and replaced, with a further crack as well. The socle base is obviously later. Height excluding socle 38cm. Width approx 26cm.
An early 20th century German bronze plaque, the obverse with bust in relief inscribed 'Adolf Kertess' and signed 'C. Stock 1927', the reverse featuring pot above fire against sunrise inscribed 'Die Färberei Mainkur Ihren Verehrten Fürher zum 28 Mai 1927', diameter 16cm.Additional InformationLight general wear, some pitting, discolouration, surface rubbing, etc.

A rare and interesting carved and pierced oak portrait panel, English, circa 1540-60, possibly of a scholar or reformerThe central roundel carved with a male bust, wearing a low cap with turned up narrow brim, a pleated shirt and doublet with puffed shoulders and cuffs at the elbow, with hooked nose and curly hair cut just above the chin, holding a book aloft in his left hand, the book rendered with decorative binding and clasps, the man's first finger marking a page, beneath a tassel between grotesque scrolls, and atop a mask and a pair of pendant grotesque foliated scrolls, 24cm wide x 2cm deep x 48cm high, (9in wide x 0 1/2in deep x 18 1/2in high)Footnotes:Provenance:Purchased from Beedham Antiques Ltd., Hungerford, Berkshire.The portrait on which this panel is no doubt based has not been identified. The book the sitter is holding aloft – with binding and clasps clearly rendered – alludes to knowledge or scholarship.
