Early Anglo-Saxon Period, Gold Shilling or Thrymsa, Post-Crondall period, struck in Kent, c. 645-70, Two Emperors type, bust right, symbols around, rev. winged Victory above two figures holding central orb, four pellets above 1.27g/12h (GCASE 820, this coin illustrated; M 79-80; N 20; S 767). Very small edge chip at 11 o’clock, otherwise better than very fine, pleasing yellow gold; the variety rare £2,000-£2,600 --- Provenance: Found near Tiptree (Essex) in 2015 (UKDFD 47358)
Sydney March (British, 1875-1968), bronze sculptural bust of George V for Elkington & Co, London, dated 1911. Coronation bust. Signed and dated. Good patination. Height 25cm, 22cm wide. Weight 2.7kg. Sydney March was an English sculptor. His primary focus was portrait busts and other sculptures of British royalty and contemporary figures, as well as war memorials.
Pair of Nuremberg brass alms bowls. The first with a punch decorated rim, the central panel decorated with Adam and Eve flanking the Tree of Knowledge, entwined with the serpent diameter 24cm and the second with a relief bust of Cicero and the inscription "MARCV. TVLIVS. CIC-ERO. CONS." diameter 26cm (has had a hole drilled through the centre).
The sitter depicted seated by a window, bust length, wearing a striped blue dress and holding a cigarette, two wine glasses to her left, signed, inscribed `Frau Ellen och Acke..` and further indistinctly inscribed, oil on canvas 51 x 77.5cm. Provenance: Formerly in the collection of J. W. Wester, Guildford. The portrait was painted in 1909. *CR Lined; some light scattered retouching; needs a light clean.

See Bellmans website article for further information: https://www.bellmans.co.uk/story/the-purple-shop-the-anthony-gardner-collectionCondition report: There are several areas of discolouration including to the right side around the arm area at the front, with a loose element of bead work; on the left side at the back; and in areas to the lower area of the skirt which are difficult to illustrate. It would appear to be bead staining / discolouration rather than loss and replacement. There are a few loose threads including one to the hem and the other to central areas of the dress. General wear and small losses, scuffs to the beads, general wear to the materials, as to be expected with use and age. The maximum measurement at the bust is 43.5cm across. This is the same down to the hips (where the 'V' shaped grey beaded pattern meets the edges). See additional images and please request more, if needed.

Please see additional photographs. There is a slight yellowing but this could just be light discolouration from the sun/environment. The one ear to left side is possibly with slight dirt to the recess. General wear and rubbing in other areas, particularly to the edges and corner notably to the base with some very small dents along the edge. Please request further images, if needed. WINIFRED LEVERITT (BRITISH 1879-1969): AN ART DECO CARVED WHIITE MARBLE BUST OF A FEMALECirca 1930 Signed to base 'W. Leveritt Sc.', 60cm high ARRWinifred Leveritt was a sculptor active in London between the 1920’s and the 1940's. She participated in the 15th exhibition of the Arts and Crafts Exhibition Society at the Royal Academy in London in 1931. A comparable sculpture by Leveritt of Saint Francis of Assisi, carved in stone, was bequeathed to the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery, Bournemouth, by Winifred Leveritt herself. AN ITALIAN BRONZE BUST OF JOHANNA II OF ANJOUIN THE MANNER OF FRANCESCO DA LAURANA (1430-1500), PROBABLY 19TH CENTURYmodelled wearing a cloth head cover decorated with a griffin, with a fleur-de-lys on her dress, the foot rim inscribed with a latin epigraph 'JOHANNA.COM-A.ANG.GALLIAE'55.5cm high, 64cm wideCatalogue NoteJohanna II or Giovanna II Angio Durazzo (1371-1435) was the reigning Queen of Naples from 1414 to her death, when the Capetian House of Anjou became extinct. The fleur-de-lys on her dress is the Anjou smbol and the griffin on her hat is the coat of arms of the Affaitati family, an ancient Italian family. The latin inscription says 'Altissima' confirming that this bronze is portrait of Johanna when she was a countess and before she became Queen.
