A FRENCH NAPOLEAN III GILT BRONZE DESK STAND, by Ferdinand Barbedienne, Paris, c.1870, the quatrefoil stand surmounted with a bust of Napolean I, the surface decorated in bas relief with figures and animals and other motifs in the Grecian style, fitted with two large bulbous oval inkwells with blue glass liners and another inkwell, the entire raised on scroll bracket legs and paw feet, 49 x 30 x 30cm high; together with a matching paper knife in the form of a Greek sword, 33 cm long. Stamped F. Barbedienne, FONDEUR, the paper knife also signed F. Levillian.

LATE 1960'S BIBA SATIN DAMASK TROUSER SUIT & DRESS. These stunning, stylish outfits were bought in the late 1960's from Barbara Hulanicki's early shop in Church Street Kensington. The extremely elegant trouser suit is made from cobalt blue heavy silk damask, to include a pair of high waisted, flaired trousers with side metal zip. Size 4! The long coat is fitted around the body, buttoned down to a high waist falling gracefully to the ankle. The sleeves are fitted to above the elbow opening into Angel wings. Woven Label 'Biba'. 14" underarm to underarm. (a few marks, but has never been cleaned). A further heavy silk damask day dress, simple design, pulled in under the bust, short sleeves, long back zip. 30" across ribs. And a pretty matching layered cape with front ties. Woven label 'Biba'. A 1920'S SILK CHIFFON FLAPPER DRESS. Beautifully structured with thin panels of silk cut on the bias, sewn diagonally. The bodice is a very pale pink, moving down to a deeper pink finishing around the hem in a deep magenta, (hard to get the magenta in the photo). The front neck has a ruffle of loose fabric. A silk shawl with magenta ruffles hangs from the shoulders. The panels run from under the bust to just below the hip, where the skirt splays out in fullness. There is a fine silk inner lining. The belt is missing. There are some very faded marks under the arms, a few tiny marks on the front ruffle. Fair condition. 28" waist. (1)
A 1980'S CHRISTIAN DIOR JACKET & JERSEY TOP. A cotton mix silk pink jacket, with exposed gold thread stitching, side pockets, original gold buttons with Dior embossed on the sides, sleeves with turned up cuffs. The jacket is fully lined in pink silk. Size 10/12. 36" bust, 16" across the back. A cotton/lycra jersey top with Dior in diamante. Size 18. (2)
A 1950'S CHARLES FREDERICK WORTH SILK BALL GOWN Made from gold and eau de nil grosgrain silk. Embellished in pearls, diamante, beads and sequins front and back. The dress is fastened at the back with a metal lightning zip. A sash wraps around the waist. Labelled on the inner skirt seam 'C Worth 50 Grosvenor Street'. "Waist 28" Bust 35". (silk has been stained with champagne!? bodice coming away from skirt). There is a pretty matching evening bag, which contains diamante earrings and choker. (4)

A further fitted long black velvet coat with ballooned sleeves pulled in tight on the lower arm to the cuff, a bow tie at the neck, labelled 'Colleen' Beauchamp Pl. Measures: 15" across the back, 26" sleeve, 53" length. Size 10/12 And a white satin rayon wedding dress with fishtail train, shirred at the shoulders and under the bust line. A pretty quilted collar and cuffs with pretty mother of pearl button detail at the front. Long sleeves and plaited belt. Size 10. 31" waist, 34" Bust 13" across the back.(4)
THREE 1950's PROM/PARTY DRESSES. A sequined black netted dress with boned bodice, small shoulder straps and side metal zip. Size 10 Waist 27" Bust 30" . And a pink embroidered tulle dress with a fitted bodice, high neck and drop waist with layers of petticoats. Fastened with a side metal zip Size 8. Waist 24" Bust 32". A further white netted strapless dress with layers of petticoats, ruffled, boned, bodice, with scarlet velvet bows on the skirt. Size 10. Waist 27" Bust 33". (3)

CASED BRITISH VICTORIES OF THE PENINSULAR WAR 1815. A red leather fitted case with Record of British Valour in gold lettering. Bronze box/medallion containing 13 coloured discs depicting various Battles or Actions, Albuera , Badajoz, Bussaco, Ciudad Rodrigo, Duoro, Pamplona, Salamanca, San Sebastian, Talavera, Toulose, Vimiera, Vitoria and Waterloo. Engraved by Edward Orme, with 75mm diameter. Englands Great Captain Arthur Duke of Wellington and left facing bust obverse, with Porter F above Orme Direx below. Angel seated beneath tree reverse, Picture Medal and Edward Orme Direx, Bond St London. The angels board reads, Record of Valour, with Porter F below. See Illustration

MOUNTED 18thC COINS. (12) Silver coins including Halfcrowns of James 11 1686, William 111 1697 and two of George 11 Lima below bust, dated 1745. Various GB shillings and sixpences also foreign coinage of that period. Part of what was once a belt, soldered with ring mounts, some to the sides others on the faces.

19th century French rectangular mother-of-pearl snuff box, the cover carved with a bust of Diana within a setting of animals and fruiting vines. Unmarked white metal frame. 7cm X 5cm X 1cmProvenance Donohoe, Davies Mews about 25 years agoPart of the Michael Shrubb (1934-2013) collection of snuff boxes. Michael Shrubb was a renowned ornithologist and author who investigated the effects of farming on British birds. He was born at Sidlesham near Chichester and in 1968 he moved to Llanwrtyd Wells in Wales and later to Aberdovey on the Welsh coast. For many years he edited Welsh bird report and Welsh birds and in 2012 he received a Lifetime Achievement award from the Welsh ornithological Society. He was a co-founder of the Sussex Ornithological Society and served as a council member of the RSPB and of The British Trust for Ornithology.
