CONSENSV/ TRANSTVLIT./ 1720., minor obverse flan defect, lovely chocolate patina, Extremely Fine. The Swiss Johann Carl Hedlinger (1691–1771) was trained in Paris, became court medalist in Stockholm. In 1718 he became Chief Engraver at the Stockholm Mint, where he produced medals, coins and seals, including medals commemorating events in the reigns of Charles XII, Queen Ulrica Eleonora and King Frederik, as well as a series of 56 medals depicting Swedish rulers from the 9th century onwards in silver and bronze, c. 1728-45. RALPH CRAWFORD `LATISE` BRONZE BUST SCULPTURE Ralph Crawford (AMERICAN, late 20th century) bronze sculpture depicting the bust of a young Native American girl from the Nez Perce people. Titled `Latise`. Mounted to fitted wooden base. Verso of bronze dated, signed and numbered `1982 4/24 RALPH CRAWFORD`. Measures 15" height x 12" width + 2" base height (38.1cm x 30.4cm + 5.1cm). Total weight of 16.72 kilograms. Provenance: Includes email correspondence from the original owner and Ralph Crawford about this piece. Mr. Crawford stated in the email that the piece is worth approx. $4,500 to $5,000. The email was sent April 29, 2009. The email is set in a frame and will be included with this lot. Ralph Crawford was selected by Arnold Schwarzenegger to create his bronze sculpture, now displayed in Thal, Austria, the govenor`s hometown.
