A carved rectangular black limestone stamp seal with intaglio profile bust and cuneiform(?) inscription; set into a later silver ring; accompanied by a museum-quality impression. 8.00 grams, 25.53mm overall, 17.98mm internal diameter (approximate size British P 1/2, USA 7 3/4, Europe 16.86, Japan 16) (1"). From the property of a London gentleman; thence by descent; previously in an important private Mayfair, London, collection, acquired after 1970. [No Reserve] Fine condition.

A carved limestone Antonine bust of a nobleman with full head of hair in tight curls, ears, pencil-line mouth beneath a mustache, heavy beard in tight curls, detailing to the eyes and furrowed brow, neck and integral plinth. 27.6 kg, 46cm (18"). From an old family collection formed in the UK; acquired in the late 1980s; thence by descent.[No Reserve]Fine condition.
3rd-4th century AD. A stucco bust of Buddha with fleshy facial details, curls of hair and ushnisha and loose garment to the left shoulder, pigment to the obverse, mounting hole to the underside. 2.4 kg, 30cm (11 3/4"). Property of a North West London gallery; formerly in a 1980s collection. Fine condition.
2nd-4th century AD. A schist frieze fragment with male bust wearing mantle to the left shoulder, crown of fronds, club gripped in the raised right hand; mounted on a custom-made stand. 704 grams total, 14.5cm including stand (5 3/4"). Property of a London collector, acquired early 1990s. Fair condition.
13th-14th century AD. A gold finger ring with ellipsoid bezel, pointillé tendrils to the hoop, to the bezel a bust with radiate crown over a pentagram, possibly added later. 4.19 grams, 21.82mm overall, 20.00mm internal diameter (approximate size British T 1/2, USA 9 3/4, Europe 21.89, Japan 21) (3/4"). Property of a London gentleman; previously from the 'Sectarian Collection', an important collection of jewellery formed in the 1990s.Very fine condition.
19th century AD and earlier. A restrung necklace of cylindrical drawn glass beads, with four later hollow-formed gold fish-shaped dangles each with a crescent plaque and disc with repoussé portrait bust. 25.4 grams, 42cm (16 1/2"). From the private collection of a North West London lady; previously with a central London gallery; formerly acquired before 1990. Fine condition.
8th-10th century AD. A carved schist squat jar with separate lid, band of roundels to the chamfered sidewall each containing facing bust of a saint, Maltese cross or chi-rho christogram, disc lid with incised cross and central rectangular plaque with nimbate bust of Christ making a 'pax' sign with his right hand. 591 grams, 99mm (4"). A group of sheet gold ornaments comprising: a lunate collar with punched point detailing to the edges; a disc pendant with integral loop, band of punched points around a central profile bust(?"). 1.22 grams total, 21-24mm (1"). A collection of thirteen wax impressions taken from original medieval and later seals and presented in a display case in three layers with 'Die Deutschen Kaisersiegel' logo to the lid; the seals comprise: lower tray (1) Ludwig IV der Bayer of 1341, enthroned crowned figure surrounded by heraldic animals, legend to the border; (2) Wilhelm II of 1902, heater shield with arms and escutcheons flanked by supporters, surmounted by a helmet and drapery, legend in two concentric rings; (3) Friedrich I Barbarossa of 1157, enthroned figure with orb and sceptre; (4) Karl der Grosse (Charlemagne) of 807, profile bust and legend to the border; (5) Friedrich II of 1212, enthroned crowned figure with orb and sceptre, legend to the border; middle tray (1) Friedrich III of 1442, enthroned figure with orb and sceptre beneath a gothic canopy with heraldic heater shields, two concentric rings with legend; (2) Maximilian I of 1517, five heraldic shields with crown and dragons, border with two concentric lines of text; (3) Otto I der Grosse of 940, profile bust with spear and shield, legend in Roman capitals; (4) Heinrich IV of 1063, seated figure with orb and sceptre with bird finial, legend in Roman capitals; upper tray (1) Heinrich I of 925, profile bust with surrounding legend; (2) Franz II of 1794. high-relief heraldic shield with arms and escutcheons on a panel with two-headed eagle holding sword and orb, supported by opposed griffins beneath a crown with legend in two concentric rings; (3) Karl IV of 1350, crowned figure enthroned with gothic buttresses, holding orb and sceptre flanked by heraldic shields, legend to the border; (4) Rudolf I of 1274, enthroned figure with orb and sceptre on an arcaded seat, legend to the border. 2 kg total with case, 5-12cm (2 - 4 3/4"). Property of a European gentleman; acquired on the German art market in the 1990s. [No Reserve] Fine condition.
