An enamel and split pearl cameo brooch, last quarter of 19th century, the conch shell cameo depicting the bust of a Bacchante, within a black enamel frame set throughout with split pearls, to a yellow rope twist border, measures 4.5cm by 3.8cmThe brooch is in fair condition with slight enamel loss. It fastens with a pin and C-hook and features a pendant loop. It bears no hallmark nor stamp but in our opinion would test as gold. Gross weight 16.1 grams. CR made 17.02.22.
