A fine early Meissen chinoiserie decorated lobed bowl. c.1735, of four lobed form, the exterior decorated with continuous chinoiserie scenes in the manner of J.G. Höroldt with figures in garden landscapes with flowers, shrubs and trees, the air above with flying exotic birds and insects, the interior with a similar vignette of an artist painting a bust, the gilded rim above a bold inner border of Gitterwerk, the circular foot with a broad gilded band and underglaze blue crossed swords mark and `3.` gilder`s mark to the base, 8 1/8 x 7in. (20.6 x 17.8cm.), 3 7/8 in. (9.9cm.) high.
