Beaker - crazed and gilt rim worn. Proclamation - chips to rim and hairline cracks. Copeland - good condition. Hitchin - discolouration to rims and nicks.

Kemble, portrait frontispiece of the author after the bust by sculptor Karl Gerhardt in first state with tablecloth visible and unsigned on the finished edge of the bust, title a cancel with copyright notice dated 1884 (second state), other first state points in text, original green pictorial cloth, gilt, extremities slightly rubbed but overall bright and clean, 8vo, New York, Charles L. Webster and Company, 1885.⁂ An excellent copy of one of the cornerstones of American fiction.With the following first state points: p.9, "Huck Decided" (later corrected to "decides"); p.13, "Him and another man" listed as p. 88; p.57, 11 lines up, says "with the was" (later corrected to "with the saw"); p.143, line 7 part of "b" in body broken; p.155, final 5 in a different font.
A good Royal Dux bust of a girl, circa 1908, modelled as a young woman of the period with solft bonnet applied with flowers, ruched dress and green sash tied with a bow at the shoulder, decorated in typical muted colours, 51.5cm high, raised triangle mark and impressed no.612.Footnote:By repute, purchased in 1908 at exhibition in Vienna and thence transported to New York, USA, in 1939 where it was later sold.
