Rev: IC-XC legend across upper fields, partial Greek legend (..XWDC.. to left and ..ANDRLE.. to right), Michael, beardless, kneeling on the left and Andronicus, bearded, kneeling on right, both wearing loros, crowned by Christ standing between them. 3rd century AD, cameo 2nd century AD. A broad D-section hoop with volute scrolls and peltas to the shoulders, rectangular plaque with elliptical cell, inset cameo of a female bust with hatched hair, possibly an empress. Property of a European collector; formerly with Egon Beckebauer, Munich, Germany; circa 1982. See Ruseva-Slokoska, L. Roman Jewellery, Sofia, 1991, item 184 for type. The hairstyle portrayed on the cameo is typical of the later 1st -2nd century, as seen on representation of e.g. Faustina the Younger, Lucilla and others. 14 grams, 26mm overall, 19.32 x 17.67mm internal diameter (approximate size British O, USA 7 1/4, Europe 15.48, Japan 15) (1"). Very fine condition. A large wearable size.

The piece is almost certainly 20th century. The condition is good with some small chips and scratches, but no significant damage or restoration. Generally would benefit from cleaning.

A woman's anteri robe, Ottoman, 1820s-30s, richly woven with burgundy and gold foliate stripes, curved 'pocket' flaps to the waist, the edges adorned with gold braid arabesques, the cuffs embroidered in gold with sequins, un-lined, bust approx 86cm, 34in CONDITION REPORT: Good condition, no problems. Fabric is fresh and good. Embroidery is good. Shot pink/yellow silk lining at right cuff is worn. Un-lined. Hem has been loosely tacked in place to shorten - could easily be unpicked.
An Alexander McQueen 'highland' style tartan wool dress, 'Widows of Culloden' collection, Autumn/Winter 2006, labelled, with cleverly constructed skirt gathered upwards to form the asymmetric shoulder, bust 81cm, 32in The red version of this dress was featured in the catwalk show for this collection and was also worn by Sarah Jessica Parker at the Met Ball gala with Lee McQueen in 2006. CONDITION REPORT: Good condition, look little worn. Tulle is a nice even ecru colour and perfect condition. Inside is fresh and clean - the outside edges of the corset sides have has the seams unpicked to perhaps try to widen but there are no alterations and these seams could easily be re-sewn.

An ice blue-chiffon couture flapper dress, circa 1928, un-labelled, studded with rhinestones and a shimmer of silver beads, deep beaded fringes to the skirt, T-bar back straps, bust 86cm, 34in CONDITION REPORT: Faint perspiration stains at underarms, right shoulder straps need strengthening and back straps. Fabulous shape. Beading is generally good and mirror discs - no obvious losses. Small strand of bugle beads missing from one shoulder but not immediately noticeable, a few detached clear bugle beads which we have in a bag.

Lacking buttons at cuffs. Faint perspiration stains to underarms and neckline of lining. Silk lining is fraying at neck.
