A William Wyon & Sons Victorian parian bust, the study of G P Bidder Esq on socle base, marked and dated 1854, 28 cm highWould benefit from a clean (spots of residue on back). Hairline cracks to the edges of the robes. Rubbing to the base. No apparent restoration or chips. Has possibly been re-attached to base.
An Art Deco Style Coral and Diamond Pendant, on Chain, a carved coral plaque depicting a bust portrait surmounted by a a diamond set laurel wreath frame, with a central pearl and suspending three diamond set drops, on a trace chain, stated diamond weight 0.45 carat, pendant measures 7.5cm by 3cm, chain length 43.5cm see illustration . The pendant is in good condition. The pendant is not hallmarked or stamped, valued as gold, the chain is stamped '750', valued as gold and is stamped 'D045' indicating total diamond weight. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour H/I, clarity SI1/SI2. Gross weight 10.8 grams. Condition Report made 23rd October 2018.
A Victorian brass and agate set strut back mirror, 25cm high, a small marble bust, titled by the Rev'd T.F.More, framed and glazed, 26cm diameter, a pair of Victorian gilt bronze candlesticks, 16.5cm high and a porcelain mounted gilt brass three branch candelabra on ball and claw feet, 24cm high, (5).
Thomas Duckett of Preston, (1804-1878) a 19th century carved marble portrait bust, of Mrs Baynes, dated 1862, signed and inscribed to the reverse, on a socle base, 72cm high. Thomas Duckett was apprenticed at Franceys, in Liverpool, a firm of stonemasons, before returning to his home town of Preston, where he became a well respected sculptor. Perhaps his most notable work is his limestone monument of Sir Robert Peel, erected in 1852, which still stands in the centre of the town.
The penny that launched the career of Ronnie Barker: an incredible piece of entertainment memorabilia. A 1901 Victoria bust penny, slightly rubbed. Accompanied by a letter from Ronnie Barker which reads;' This is the actual penny change from the sixpence I gave to the bus conductor for a fivepenny fare to the Oxford Playhouse on the day I went for my interview to get a job. From that day to this I have been lucky in my work. PS - I have had it polished, of course '. The note is signed by Ronnie, and dated April 1980.The letter appears very good, some glue residue to verso from an old album. An interesting piece of entertainment history.
