A Saint Laurent for Dior couture fuchsia satin cocktail dress, Autumn-Winter, 1959, labelled and numbered 103055, the bateau neckline and cuffs with top-stitched bands, bust 86cm, 34in, waist 61cm, 24in CONDITION REPORT: Needs repairs at underarms, satin has perished and rear right sleeve/bodice armhole where they join. Very slight rubbing to neck edge at sides. Faint freckle spot marks front left side of skirt and front top of skirt area - not particularly noticeable on a mannequin as the colour is so strong. Slight fraying to edge of lead-weighted hem. Interior is generally good and unaltered. Fresh and clean inside.

An ivory damask satin wedding dress, late 1880s, with corsetted bodice, the skirt with asymmetric pleats, integral bum-roll; together with button-hook, bust 81cm, 32in, waist 56cm, 22in (3) CONDITION REPORT: Perspiration stains at underarms and splits in satin here, skirt has moth damage, primarily to interior hem wool lining and across top front of skirt. Bodice needs re-stitching along seam at left front, approx 7cm, minor. Lace collar/cuffs are slightly discoloured. Fabric generally is good, no apparent alterations.

A peacock-blue and black tartan silk dress, circa 1865, adorned with black rosettes, bust 92cm, 36in CONDITION REPORT: Later added braid to neck and cuffs. Skirt has been altered from original oval shape to a dome shape. Good condition for age. Colour is good with faint discolouration to a couple of small areas, not immediately obvious. Perspiration stains at underarms and creasing here. Staining/perspiration stains to interior of bodice at underarms and padded breast area. One detached bow inside pocket.

A Givenchy couture shot chartreuse/ivory silk faille cocktail dress, circa 1955-7, labelled and numbered 1603, with strapless, corsetted bodice, full skirt and two broad rear sash-like panels forming a watteau back, one with opening at the waist for dancing, bust 81cm, 32in, waist 56cm, 22in CONDITION REPORT: No alterations. Silk has badly perished at the underarms and has disintegrated leaving bare patches that exposes the white flannel corset covering. Fabric could possibly be taken from some of the other double-layered areas of the dress to repair. Left side seam needs re-stitching in 2 places. Apart from the underarms the dress is clean and fresh. Silk is frayed at zip closure edge. Provenance: same owner as bridal gown, lot 106, June 14th 2016 auction.

A Christian Dior London gold sequined mini-dress, circa 1965, Boutique labelled and numbered 89820, with eyelet openings to shoulder fronts, bust 86cm, 34in CONDITION REPORT: Patches of sequins on front and back of the dress have discoloured, gilding on sequins has rubbed slightly on shoulders (hard to photograph). Hem was raised, probably by the original owner.

A Chanel couture boucle wool suit, 1972, wide black on white label and numbered 45483, woven in autumnal shades, the jacket with lion's mask buttons, matching apricot georgette blouse with top-stitched detailing and a poor condition pleated skirt, bust 97cm, 38in; together with a Chanel Creations tartan silk 3pc trouser ensemble c.1990 (6) CONDITION REPORT: Couture skirt is heavily moth damaged, jacket lining is slightly soiled at hem. Blouse is good condition, would have had cuff link buttons which are missing. Silk tartan pyjama suit is good condition.

A Juliette Verneuil gold lame 'goddess' dress, circa 1949-50, with embroidered label and atelier name 'A.Rolande' to the bolduc, the strapless corsetted bodice adorned with rhinestones, sequins and bugle beads, bust approx 81cm, 32in The Juliette Verneuil label was launched by Marcelle Chaumont as a demi-couture/ready to wear label. It was short lived as she closed her business in 1953 due to ill health. She had formerly worked with both Jeanne Lanvin and Madeleine Vionnet. This is an early example of a couturier forming a separate diffusion line. CONDITION REPORT: Good condition. Lame is lustrous and good. The interior seams are hand-locked couture style. Tarnishing and rubbing to fabric at underarms but not too serious. Label, which is embroidered in Vionnet's style, needs re-stitching at one end. Slight soiling to lining. Beading and sequinning good.

Brown marking to lining at rear left bodice and left front lining (minor).

A Norman Hartnell couture ivory satin cocktail dress, circa 1960, labelled, embroidered with large rose to front bodice, spangled with sequins, bell-shaped skirt with tulle petticoat, bust 97cm, 38in waist 66cm, 26in CONDITION REPORT: Hem has been raised approx 1in. Satin is frayed along bodice edge at underarms. A bit grubby, would benefit from cleaning. Soil marks to upper front edge of bodice particularly right breast area, faint brown mark at right waist to side of bow. Faint brown discolouration to rear bodice mainly on left side. Fatin brown mark to rear skirt below zip. Front of skirt - faint brown discolouration running from right hip pleat to hem. 2.5cm spot stain and another brown discolouration - very faint to side of this. Scattered freckle stains to hem and slight fraying to hem edge approx. 1cm. Seam under bow needs slightly re-stitching approx. 1x1cm.

A Maison Rouff brown and black checked taffeta day dress, circa 1910, the ivory satin waist stay woven Rouff, 13 Bd Haussman, the bodice with ivory satin chemisette and tulle covered collar and cuffs, bust 86cm, 34in, waist 76cm, 30in (2) CONDITION REPORT: The gown probably originally c.1900 and remodelled c.1910 or later. The ivory satin panels to the front bodice are splitting, the interior of the bodice itself is good.

Lining appears to have been let out approx 0.5in here also. Otherwise good.

Nice black crepe and fresh yellow trim.

An American ready to wear copy of a Dior couture original, 1957, labelled Mignon, Paris New York, of scarlet silk taffeta, with pleated fichu-like collar, ruched and gathered centre front with concealed zip, rose corsage and ribbon streamers, integral stiffened petticoat, bust 92cm, 36in, waist 66cm, 26in See 'Dior' Thames & Hudson, p.264 for the Dior black taffeta 1957 original. CONDITION REPORT: Perspiration stains at underarms. Taffeta is richly coloured and generally fresh appearance - the odd small spot stain concealed within the folds, silk has perished within the folds of the stole-like collar. Interior is clean and good generally.

Bodice has deodorant marks at underarms. Very minor soiling to inner crotch of fabric, would benefit from cleaning. Grosgrain interior waistband needs re-stitching at centre seam (minor).

A Ceil Chapman white guipure and black silk cocktail dress, 1961, labelled, bust 92cm, 36in waist 71cm, 28in; together with a New Look-style black grosgrain ensemble, c.1950, un-labelled, with full skirt, the double-breasted bodice with nipped in waist and fastening in a triangle with three buttons, bust approx 96cm, 38in, waist 61cm, 24in (3) A near identical Ceil Chapman dress was sold by KTA, lot 130, October 2015, together with an original Saks Fifth Avenue advertisement. CONDITION REPORT: Good condition. Sleeve lining of Ceil Chapman is torn and frayed and dress has been washed.

A Jacques Heim couture ivory slubbed silk bridal/debutante gown, early 1960s, 'Jeunes Filles Paris' label, the hem and neckline edged with silver lace and iridescent sequins, bust 92cm, 36in, waist 61cm, 24in CONDITION REPORT: Perspiration stains at underarms. Dress is slightly crumpled in appearance, may have been washed. Very faint discolouration to bodice area (minor, hard to see). A couple of floating threads to bodice lace edge. 3 small very faint light brown stains to lower front skirt. Dress has 2 pres-studs at rear waist indicating missing belt.

Sequins are frayed to rear neckline and occasional floating threads, mainly at hem (minor). Very faint perspiration stains at right underarm to lining only, not visible to exterior. Also perspiration stains along interior edge of neckline/ Tear to lining at right underarm, easily repaired. Lining at back left needs re-stitching along seam approx. 5cm (minor).

A Marc Bohan for Christian Dior haute couture dove-grey gazar evening gown, Spring-Summer 1961, Paris labelled and numbered 170169, the over-bodice wrapping to the back and with singular bow, bust 106cm, 42in, waist 81cm, 32in (2) CONDITION REPORT: Faint perspiration stains to underarms of over-bodice and slight fraying to edges of gazar here also. Front bust darts of under-slip have been let out, approx 1in.
