The rim of the plate decorated in deep cobalt with golden scrolled acanthus leaves. Measures: 29cm wide.
After Raffaele Monti - The Mother - A stunning 19th Century antique parian ware marble effect bust statue by The Ceramic and Crystal Palace Art Union Copeland. The beautiful example depicting the head and shoulders of an anonymous young woman holding a small sleeping baby against her right shoulder. Her dress has a lace edge which has fallen back to reveal her left shoulder. She also has a cloth covering most of her hair, which she holds around the baby. Stamped to verso. With the original pedestal base. Measures: 38cm tall.
