A large Italian scalloped bowl hand painted with floral sprays and having moulded female face masks either side. A blue & white Delft plate with chinoiserie decoration 9 ins (23 cms) in diameter, and another chinoiserie plate. A small faience bust of a lady decorated with polychrome enamels, 4 ins (10 cms) in height.
Henri Gauquie (French, 1858-1927): A Large Dark Brown Patinated Bronze Figure of warrior wielding a sword, on a naturalistic base cast with a trophy comprising a medallion bearing a portrait bust, below an eagle crest and a plaque reading SPQR. Signed HR. GAUQUIE to the reverse and titled 'VAE VICTIC Beaux Arts' to the front, 29½ ins (78 cms) high.

A oil painting on oval porcelain plaque (A/F) half length portrait of an 18th century lady 3½ x 2¾ ins (9 cms x 7 cms), in a rectangular ebonised frame with gilt sprig. An unframed painting on ivory; three-quarter length portrait of a young lady, 4¾ins x 3½ ins (12 cms x 9 cms). An oval head & shoulders portrait of a military gentleman, 2¾ ins x 2¼ ins (7 cms x 6 cms), in a rectangular ebnonised frame with acorn sprigged hanging ring. An overpainted engraving of fisherfolk on beach, signed Delacroix bottom left, 10¼ ins x 13¼ ins (26 cms x 13.5 cms), in a glazed frame 18 ins x 22 ins (46 cms x 56 cms). 'The Idle Servant' signed in pencil Nicholas Maas, 11½ ins x 10 ins (29 cms x 26 cms) in a deep bevelled mahogany frame 17½ ins x 16 ins (44 cms x 40 cms). Two small gilt Pears prints, 10½ ins x 9 ins (27 cms x 23 cms). 'The Scanty Meal' engraved by E Hacker after JF Herring, 7½ ins x 9½ ins (19 cms x 24 cms), in a glazed gilt frame 16½ ins x 19½ ins (42 cms x 50 cms). An oval pastel portrait bust of young woman in cap, signed Rayors 1884, 8¼ ins x 6 ins (21 cms x 15 cms) in oak frame 17¼ ins x 14½ ins (44 cms x 37 cms). 'The Queen's Horses' by C. Coalport figurine appears OK. Patinated plaster bust has various chips. Figural table lamp - head of the dog has quite a rough appearance, possibly blemishes or some restoration. OBVERSE: Bust of Khusraw II right with his name in Pahlawi before; in second quadrant of margin: jaiz hadha. REVERSE: To right and left of fire-altar: vestigial Pahlawi mint-signature and date respectively (i.e. transposed from their usual positions. WEIGHT: 2.40g. REFERENCES: Sears 6-8; Album G97 RRR. OBVERSE: Sasanian bust right, wearing helmet with ‘weather-vane’ crest; To right of bust, in Arabic: Yazid bin - al-Muhallab; Insecond and third quadrants of margin, in Arabic: bismillah – al-a‘zim. REVERSE: Standing figure facing wearing armour and helmet with ‘weather-vane’ crest, holding spear vertically in left hand, right hand on pommel of sheathed sword at his waist.; Infield (in Pahlawi) ANBYR to left, date to right; Infirst and second quadrants of margin: Ephthalite legend; Infourth and third quadrants of margin (in Arabic): duriba jizya bi-’l–Juzjan. WEIGHT: 3.04g. REFERENCES: Walker 1952, p.108, 3, same obverse die; Album E91 RRR. CONDITION: Ephthalite countermark in first quadrant of obverse margin, flan slightly curved, otherwise good fine and of the highest rarity, an historically important coin. NOTE: This extraordinary type is one of the very latest Arab-Sasanian drachms issued. It is exceptional in many respects, but the first and most obvious must be the remarkable depiction of the armed warrior on the reverse. On virtually all Arab-Sasanian drachms the imagery is simply copied from Sasanian prototypes without conscious modification.
