A white bisque porcelain portrait bust of a European nobleman thought to be Auguste be Beauharnais depicted wearing the Order of the Golden Fleece on a gilded and glazed integral octagonal base, circa 1835, 149mm * Auguste de Beauharnais, 2nd Duke of Leuchtenberg was born in 1810. He married Queen Maria II of Portugal by proxy in Munich on 1st December 1834 and in person in Lisbon on 26th January 1835 and at about this time was awarded the Order of the Golden Fleece. He fell ill shortly afterwards and died on 28th March 1835Illustrated
