A 19th Century plaster bust of Lord Arthur Hervey 1802-1894, Bishop of Bath and Wells, bearded, wearing a cravat and buttoned waistcoat, 76cm high/Provenance: Sotheby's Ickworth House Sale 11th and 12th June 1996, lot 97/Note: Lord Hervey was the fourth son of the first Marquess of Bristol, great grandson of John, Lord Hervey, writer and Lord Privy Seal 1696-1743. Lord Arthur was a tennis player at Cambridge and winner of the Silver Racket Championship 1829, 30 and 31, portrait by Sir W M Blake Richmond, Wells Town Hall and Ickworth, tomb by Thomas Brock, Wells Cathedral Condition Report: Waistcoat with noticeable chip to one border.
