A bust depicting Abraham Lincoln by Leo Cherne (1912-1999) cast in dark patinated plaster and mounted on a black wood plinth base. The collar of the bust is signed and dated: "1955 Leo Cherne", with presentation plaque to the front of plinth base to Harold Wilson 'in appreciation, the Union League Club, September 26th 1984'. Note: The original sculpture of the Abraham Lincoln bust was once located in the Cabinet Room of the White House and has been in the White House since the presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower. CONDITION:Three chips to nose, three to hair, few to chin and neck.

Scarce Italian Etched Breastplate c.1580, Pisa or Milan, of peascod form, turned neck, separate arm cusps and 2 plate skirt all with roped edges, the breastplate and skirt etched with converging vertical bands with classical figures in cartouches, 2 bust portraits within roundels, winged figures, plumed close helmets, armour, shields, dolphins etc all against a granular ground together with bands of guilloche and linear decoration, retaining a pair of original swivel hooks and leather straps. Good condition, some age wear overall.
^ Very unusual George IV Midshipman’s Dirk, 1821-1830, thick elliptical section blade with traces of etched and gilt decoration, bobbin turned ivory grip, ivory pommel carved as a bust portrait of George 4th, gilt brass mounts comprising circular dish-shaped guard and ferule, in its brass sheath engraved with a trophy of arms, sun bursts and foliage, 2 hanging rings. Blade 22cms, overall 31cms. Good condition.
