A Victorian ornamentally turned ivory ceremonial gavel, with a tortoiseshell band inscribed `RUMNEY MEMORIAL HALL`, the base inset an ebony rondel of Queen Victoria inscribed `HER MOST GRACIOUS MAJESTY QUEEN VICTORIA`, 7½in (18.7cm) high, two other ivory gavels one carved with a bust of Victoria the other with a silver plaque engraved a monogram together with three lignum vitae ceremonial gavels, one with the bust of Victoria, one with Victoria and Albert and one inscribed `To BISHOP GROTTY ON LAYING FOUNDATION POST EMMAGOOL 1928`. A quantity of ceramics including a Royal Worcester blush porcelain teacup and saucer, Royal Crown Derby porcelain imari coffee cup and saucer, another decorative cup and saucer with over-painted classical scenes, a Royal Crown Derby house sparrow, a Wedgwood tile printed in black with July, a Copenhagen pottery fawn, 917/786, and a parian bust of Queen Victoria modelled by R. Two Chinese porcelain ovoid jars decorated with birds amongst branches, together with a smaller Chinese porcelain ovoid jar decorated with character on horseback, a porcelain plate decorated in the famille-vert palette with fish, birds and flowers and a small Chinese porcelain bowl CONDITION REPORTS All items in the lot show signs to wear throughout conducive to with surface scratches, rubbing etc throughout. The two large vases the gilt decoration very rubbed and missing almost altogether on the other, dirty, some slight discolouration throughout, base to one vase the is a central star bust hairline crack (see photo) but does not go all the way through, some rubbing to decoration. Small vase - general ware, surface scratching but two very deep scratches one a least 10 cm long and another a couple of cm long, there is a old approx 1 cm chip to base on the foot. Bowl has firing fault to base (see photos) and firing pitting throughout, Plate - is very damaged and in very poor condition throughout - has been broken at edge and very poorly glued sections approx 10 cm x 1cm and little pieces of glazed etc missing to edges of glued sections, there is also a very large crack running all the way through the plate going off in several directions.
An 18th Century patinated bronze medallion decorated with portrait bust of a gentleman in armour inscribed "Iohann Campbell", inscribed below bust "I A Dassier (F) (one of Jacques-Antoine Dassier's London Series of Medals depicting celebrated contemporary men)", and verso inscribed "Dux de Argyle et de Greenwich MDCCXLIII" (1743)
An ancient carved black stone lion, possibly Bactrian, modelled stylistically in the round, with pierced facial features, on integral oval shaped base, 4.5cm wide; together with further ancient and later items, to include a Bactrian carved white bust of a deity (the head piece off a larger sculpture), further miscellaneous animals, carved stone beads, toggles, a carved white stone pendant and rock crystal items, (a lot).
