A cased set of ten circular patinated lead "Napoleon Medals", from the workshop of Bertrand & Andrieu (1761-1822), early 19th Century, to include: Empress Marie-Louise, bust looking right; Empress Josephine, bust looking right; medallion inscribed "Seige de la Bastille", dated 14 Juet 1789; Napoleon on horseback inscribed "Passage de St. Bernard"; "Bonaparte Premier Consul de la République Fran", with Napoleon bust looking right; two further busts of Napoleon, one looking left, the other looking right; a large medallion bust of Napoleon looking left; and another large medallion of Napoleon and Marie-Louise looking left, mounted in two layers within gilt tooled book pattern case, larger medallions 5 1/2in. Elizabeth I silver shilling, Sixth Issue [1582-1600], mm. obverse overrun by legend, reverse looks Lion but this cannot be none were issued, see Spink p.266 and is probably Escallop, the bust looks to be 6B, Spink 2577, large but irregular flan, a little weak each side but GF or a little better
