A 19th Century black basalt ware bust of Aristotle, raised on a black basalt ware socle base, 19.5 cm high, together with a 19th Century black basalt ware bust of Socrates raised on a socle base, 20 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Aristotle has a firing crack to the back, there is a small chip to his left shoulder, and the base is loose, there are chips to the bottom of the stand. Socrates has firing faults to the back, the base is integral to the bust. Both have wear and tear including dirt, surface scratches etc.
