A 19th century mahogany eight day longcase clock, having painted arched moonphase dial, signed Telford Wigton. 222 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: : The movement winds on both trains. We have both weights, the key and pendulum. When weight is applied to the going train the movement appears to tick away. When weight is applied to the strike train the movement does strike when manually advanced. The moon phase appears to operate when manually advanced also. The swans neck pediment is damaged above the centre arch and there are some minor sections of edge boxwood stringing around the hood extremities. The door closed flush and is not warped. The painted dial is in generally good condition with only minor rubbing and slight fading to the moon phase. The trunk door is slightly warped. The lock is present but loose. There are minor losses to the door around both hinges and the top left-hand corner. The sides of the trunk are in generally good condition. The front base panel has stress fractures. The front bottom sections of each bracket are later replacements. We can see no evidence of any woodworm.

We have both weights and the pendulum but the suspension to the pendulum is missing and we have not had the movement running. The movement does however wind on both trains and appears to be ticking away when weight is applied to the movement.
