An early 18th Century walnut and marquetry longcase clock by William Speakman Junior of London, the 11ins square brass dial with wide silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, matted dial centre with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture and with turned winding holes, cast cherub's head and leaf scroll spandrels to the eight day two train movement striking on a bell, contained in walnut and marquetry fronted case, the hood with moulded cornice and plain turned pillars to door, the door itself with trailing floral ornament, the trunk door with marquetry panel depicting cupids, urns of flowers, birds and trailing floral ornament, with plain glass lenticle to centre and plain mounded mouldings to edge of door, the plinth similarly inlaid with floral and leaf scroll ornament, each within stylised scale pattern borders, on later carved paw pattern feet, 83.5ins high Note : William Speakman Senior recorded working London, Apprentice 1654, Clockmaker 1661, Master of the Clockmakers Company 1701-1717. Cannot confirm if in working order. Comes with two weights and a pendulum. Blistering to painted face all over.

Macnally/ Londonderry, trunk with rectangular door, fluted canted angles 203cm high Charles MacNally was working in Ulster from c. 1820 signing both from Omagh and Londonderry, before migrating to Canada c. 1830 and settling down as a maker in York, Ontario (then still capital of Upper Canada). George III eight day longcase clock by F. Marshall of Bath, with painted arched dial with subsidiary seconds in oak case with swan-neck pediment and turned columns, 210cm high (pendulum and weights present) CONDITION REPORT General overall condition reasonably good. Movement is dirty and we are unable to say if it is in full working order. Seat board has been replaced and crutch has been bent to accommodate it. Seat board supports have been replaced and are now fixed inside side panels. Dial is dirty and crazed. Some damage to enamelling. Second hand is a replacement and dial itself is bent at bottom right corner. Case is in good condition. Some minor evidence of woodworm activity particularly in back board. Minor cracking to side panels, joints in plinth are opening up. Hood is generally good, front door hinges have been relocated at some time. Difficult to date but we believe late 18th / early 19th century
An 18th century and later longcase clock by Thomas Morgan Edinburgh, the arched brass dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, in later mahogany inlaid trunk, with two weights, 220cm high x 44.5cm wide CONDITION REPORT: Lot 444 - Case: fretwork to frieze of hood buckled and lifting in areas, some lacking, split to right side of hood, moulding to cornice repaired to right side, small chunk lacking to left side, beading lacking to left side of trunk, general cracks to veneer especially to cross body, base is cracked and areas of veneer replaced, finial lacking. Backboards to base have been replaced, later seat board and side packers, mechanism untested, face measures 42cm high x 31cm wide. Comes with two weights, pendulum and winding keys.

With eight day movement, in mahogany and oak case with swan's neck pediment and baluster turned pilasters, the trunk with quarter round mouldings and inlaid decoration, on bracket feet. 7' 6" (229cms) high.
