Porthouse, Penrith', and with silvered plaque engraved 'Nicholas and Mary Lowes, 1748', within gilt mask spandrels, with associated four pillar movement with anchor escapement and striking on a bell. 215cm high

A George III Mahogany Longcase Clock: William Garrett, London The brass arched dial with Roman numeral chapter ring and outer Arabic dial, subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture, gilt foliate spandrels, eight-day movement, the hood with fret-cut panel and free standing pillars, brass ball and eagle finials. H 241 cm CONDITION REPORT: Clock stands well, bowing to the door to the arch, door opens (no lock) & closes freely. Clean condition overall, recent service with new catgut & weight holders. Minor surface dirt to the dial, original lead weights, later pendulum. Card set to the back of the clock as a gap.

An oak Lancashire George III longcase clock, the 34cm dial, with Roman chapter with Arabic minutes numerals, floral spandrels, white moon phase within main chapter painted with bucolic scene, subsidiary date dial , pierced gilt hands, signed Hodghon[sic]/Preston, eight- day movement striking on a bell, the hood with mahogany frieze, turned pilasters, shaped door, flanked by plain quarter columns, canted angles to base, 199.4cm high The blundered signature relates to Thomas Hodgson of Preston was working in the later decades of the 18th century and is thought to have been related to the Hodgson clcokmakers of Lancaster.

A longcase clock movement, the painted dial with a phase of the moon, and an eight day movement, 31 cm wide, and a longcase clock, having a modern printed dial and quartz movement, in a 19th century mahogany case Condition report With a pendulum and trunk door key Report by GH The movement generally with a very worn face and some minor repairs evident on the movement. Movement does not appear to have been used for a long time but generally appears complete. The longcase has been altered to accommodate its modern face and quartz movement. Trunk door generally slightly bowed, a piece of moulding is missing from below the door and various gouges, chips, scratches and dents particularly around the bottom of the case. Generally quite heavily sun faded.

CONDITION REPORT: Pendulum bob is brass. The weight is not brass covered. Clock movement reconditioned. Tear to fabric behind fretwork on left hand side of hood. Hinge replaced on the case. Case in good condition.
