A fine longcase clock by William Feltham, Harleston (early 19th Century). The case is made with excellent flame mahogany and has the added quality of boxwood and ebony stringing. The eight day movement strikes on the hour and the brass cased weights enable the wonderful painted ship to rock to and fro
An excellent eight day longcase by Richard Durrant, Beccles (1823-1855). The case has cross banding throughout to enhance the wonderful figuring of the mahogany. The cresting to the top is typical of Suffolk clocks and the hood pillars are superbly reeded with fine brass capitals. The dial has a wonderful scene to the arch of a moving swan on a river, possibly the river Waveney. The movement has recently been restored and is in A1 condition. Overall a most splendid clock, height 7ft 1in
A fine eight day marquetry longcase clock by Joseph King, Shaftsbury c.1710. The case is profusely inlaid with marquetry flowers and trunk door top shaped in the form of a Dutch gable, tying in with the Dutch style marquetry. The superb dial has very high quality engraving and encompasses strike/silent facility and date aperture. The movement which has five finely turned with decorated pillars rather than the standard four pillars, has recently been restored and is A1 condition. Overall this is an outstanding clock, height 7ft 3 1/2in
