A George lll mahogany longcase clock, signed Charles Read, Helstone, with an arched brass dial, height 219cm, width 45.5cm.Condition report: The clock has two (non-matching) brass weights and a pendulum, no key.It has been entered for sale from a local deceased estate and is dusty and does not appear to have been working recently.The movement is eight day and strikes on a bell. The case is a good colour and generally free of major damage, the finials are probably replacements.
A Foley Intarsio pottery model of a longcase clock, designed by Frederick Rhead, colour decorated with an Art Nouveau lady blowing dandelions, inscribed "Prithee Whats O'Clock", printed marks and number 3116, height 32.5cm.Condition report: There is a small chip to the back left corner of the base. No evidence of any other damage or repair. Some general light crazing. The green glaze has 'missed' slightly to the edge of the foot. The movement is stamped 'Mercedes made in Germany' and although it ticks when wound we can offer no guarantee of its condition. It may be a replacement.

He died in 1750, but two of his three sons, William Hawkins and Mark Hawkins continued as clockmakers. 01.10.20 Case with a good original colour, case with small chips to the edges in parts, some wood worm holes in parts which are not active, later skirting around the bottom of the plinth, dial and movement are clean, movement in going order, with two weights and a pendulum.
