The case is in good condition having a nice original colour and patina, there is a very small piece missing above the foot, the barometer is original to the case and the tube is complete and undamaged. There is also no holes in the cheeks either. In my opinion, the movement is not original to case. The top arch of the hood and the pillars look like they are later. The case looks to have been cleaned and repolished. The base is original. The movement is original to dial and is complete, it ticks and strikes corrrectly but may need a service.

The minute hand is missing, the movement is complete but dirty and will need an overhaul. Comes with weights and pendulum. The moulding from the base is present.

The polish has rubbed slightly on the top mould of the trunk, originally the base would of had a double plinth and the bottom plinth is missing. Small piece of moulding missing from the arch of the hood door. The dial has stress cracks and also a hole at two o'clock, the second hand is missing. The movement is original to case and is complete but is dirty and will need an overhaul. Comes with pendulum but no weights. Height- 224.5cm

An Irish late Georgian Provincial inlaid mahogany Longcase Clock, by John Martin, Kilkenny, with divided pediment above an arched brass dial, with two subsidiary dials for date and seconds, and 'Tempis Fugit' to the arch, Roman and Arabic numerals flanked with a fluted pilaster to either side, above a trunk door with shaped top on a moulded inlaid box base with plinth, 214cms x 52cms (7' x 20"). George III mahogany longcase clock, the hood with brass finial, swan neck pediment, turned columns, trunk with short door, box base on bracket feet, fourteen inch square brass dial with subsidiary seconds dial, signed Thomas Birchall, Nantwich, eight day movement striking on a bell, height 228cm, with two weights, pendulum and winding key.Condition report:Relatively new dial and hands, and the seatboard is new as well, suggesting the clock has bee repaired/ restored in recent past. The movement appears complete, and comes with pendulum, weights, and keys. Ol repairs and restorations to the case with the mahogany veneer splitting slightly in places, noticeably the door. Some of the crossbanding is replaced, some small sections have been chipped off and missing. Oak feet look relatively new. Some splitting to the veneer of the hood also.

There are some cracks to the hood and bottom left panel. There are some indentations to the top left corner of the base and to the bottom right panel. Pendulum and weights are present.
