Arch painted face with rolling moon Roman numerals seconds dial and date aperture marked David Herbert. Herbert Aberystwith eight day two train movement striking on one bell. C1830. Face 19" x 13.5". 93" High overall.
A 19TH CENTURY MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK, the hood with fret carved scrolled pediment above arched aperture flanked by reeded gilt metal mounted pilasters the waist with arch panel door flanked by wrythen gilt metal mounted quarter pilasters on a panel base with bracket feet. Arch painted face with woman in a garden to the arch, foliate spandrels Roman numerals and seconds and date dials. Marked D.C Burlingham, Lynn, eight day two train movement striking on one bell. The face 17" x 11.5", overall 84" High.
A mid 18c. 8 day walnut cased Longcase clock. The brass arched dial style with silvered Roman numeric chapter ring with date aperture strike/silent feature signed "Stumbels, Totnes" fitted in carved wood with eagle finials raised above a cross banded trunk door flanked by quarter columns, the whole on bracket feet. Approx. 238 cms high. It is widely believed that William Stumbels was one of the greatest clock makers outside of London. Various examples of his work exist in Museums in the South West of England.

A Marquetry Month Going Longcase Clock, signed Nathaniel Pyne, London, circa 1690, case with flat top and rising hood, backboard with coiled spring for the rising hood, glazed side panels, barley twisted columns and convex throat mouldings beneath hood, inlaid side panels, trunk door with floral work and a central glazed lenticle, re-built plinth with marquetry front panel and later skirting, 11-inch square brass dial signed to the bottom edge Nathaniel Pyne, London, silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted dial centre with subsidiary seconds, date aperture and ringed winding holes, month going twin weight driven movement with latched pillars, five wheel going train, anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking on a bell, 204cm high, (case with restorations) Nathaniel Pyne is recorded in London 1667-1706. AN OAK LONGCASE CLOCK the 18th c brass 26.5cm dial signed on the chapter ring Brown Leverpool, with matted centre, single hand and cherub and crown spandrels, having thirty hour movement in George III `primitive` oak case with flared pediment, turned pilasters, slender trunk with side mouldings to accommodate the pendulum-swing and full length door, on conforming base, 203cm h++The dial associated to the movement, the movement complete, the dial cleaned and lacquered. The seatboard replaced, associated iron rod pendulum. The case in good condition save for the old replaced cornice
A VICTORIAN OAK LONGCASE CLOCK signed on the painted circular dial HALLAM & SON NOTTINGHAM, the eight-day movement in break-arched case with reeded mouldings and chamferred trunk with arched door above a panel, on tall base, 209cm h++The dial with some staining and wear to the painted chapters, the movement original but in need of cleaning, on old seatboard, the case cut to accommodate a skirting board and with old french polishing. Base reconstructed.
A DATED GEORGE III LONGCASE CLOCK signed on the break-arched and silvered regulator type dial G SWINDEN BRENTFORD, with minutes ring and subsidiary dials for the seconds and hours, the ivory moon sphere to the arch in lacquered brass bowl beneath an engraved horizontal ring [numbered 0-5-29.5] with indicator, the reverse of the dial plate engraved Geo Swinden Brentford Fecit Aged 18 Years 1797, the eight day, four-pillar movement chiming on eight bells and striking on a later wire gong, the iron rod pendulum with brass disc bob and having two substantial lead weights on pierced brass pulleys, in associated, later-carved, embellished and dark stained oak case with swan neck pediment, mask, inscription BEAUTIFUL BELLS, date `1693`, a scene and allegorical figures, 244cm h, 1797, case 18th c and later Ballie records clocks made by Francis Swinden (`& Son` from 1802) 1782-1805 and Henry son of Francis Swinden, apprenticed to John Brooks 1797 and w. probably with his father until 1808. A plausible explanation of the engraved inscription on the reverse of the dial, since there is apparently no record of a son named George, is that he may have died prematurely and that this fine clock was intended to commemorate him.++The dial and movement in original condition but in need of cleaning, the silvering on the dial virtually all present but discoloured, the case in satisfactory condition

Note: on the reverse of the dial plate one or two of the rivets by which the spandrels (all original) replaced with other fixings, the hands replaced. A GEORGE I OAK LONGCASE CLOCK the engraved brass dial signed on the chapter ring Tho Gorsuch Salop, having matted centre with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, pierced steel hands, cherub-and- crown spandrels and eight day five-pillar movement, the crossbanded case with cavetto cornice, ogee pediment and turned pillars, the trunk enclosed by an ogee door flanked by pilasters, on plain base, 217cm h Provenance: The Wynne-Finch family of Cefnamwlch and Voelas, North Wales. Thomas Gorsuch, Clock and Watchmaker of Shrewsbury, w. 1683-1727. According to the Chirk Castle accounts of the Middleton family, on 6 February 1721, he was paid 5 shillings for mending a repeating watch for Lady Middleton. (see D J Elliott, Shropshire Clock and Watchmakers, 1979, pp 68-69). ++The dial/movement original to the case but extremely dirty with much accretion of dirt and grime and also showing the effects of damp with some rust affecting the iron parts. The seat board old, the case - the top of the hood later fitted with finials now missing or damaged and with much build up of dirt and grime, the hinges original, shrinkage cracks in the base, lacking two sides of the skirted plinth but entirely free from restoration
