The vendor's father owned it for many years but we don't know if this is the original movement to the original case but it does look very good. The silvered chapter ring and the pierced gilded spandrels and broken arch dial all look in very reasonable condition. The clock can be seen lifted off its plinth base which would all go back together fairly easily. The case has scratches, some marks, some lifting of lacquer, scuffs and dirt commensurate with age. On the very top of the hood the flat horizontal plank looks as if it has been replaced some years ago. There is some evidence of small old splitting. The clock has 2 weights and a pendulum. We can't see any evidence of woodworm either historic or recent although there are some old historic mostly smaller splits to the case/lacquerwork. (see images).
