An early 19thC mahogany and rosewood longcase clock, the break arch dial painted with a pastoral scene, dial bearing Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials, two train eight day movement, with bell strike, the hood capped with brass ball and eagle finials, raised on brass capped Corinthian spiral fluted columns, the trunk with line inlay and brass capped spiral twist Corinthian columns, raised on bracket feet, with weights, and pendulum, 218cm high.
A late 18th century mahogany longcase clock, signed John W. Wainwright, Nottingham, eight day movement, arched silvered dial, boxstrung outlines, height 226cm.Condition report:With two weights, pendulum but not winding keys and no case key. The pendulum rid is somewhat bent. Not set up in the saleroom to test if in full working order. The dial has been married to the movement - you can faintly see on the face where the new rods have been adjoined (near numerals 1 and 11, and then within the scrolled design below the date aperture). No record of service history. Movements does appear complete. The hood has a loose eagle and ball finial, and the top of the hood is covered in an old layer of tape which has a puncture wound. The door to the hood has split through the top left corner of the glazed frame, and the glass is cracked across the width. The right hand moulding that the hood rests on is missing. Some inlay is lifting throughout. The base of the case has patches of missing veneer (some of which are present) with quite a large loss to the front left foot.
Georgian oak longcase clock, the case with moulded and dentil cornice, turned columns, long door, plinth base, 33cm arched painted with with subsidiary second dial and date aperture, the lunette painted with a view of Haddon Hall, eight day movement striking on a bell, 207cm.Condition report:Case had had replaced top moulding to the cornice, hood door is detached, addition timbe added to the top of the back board, there are two weights, pendulum and winding key, the movement ticks but I can not state how log and consistently it runs. An 18th century black japanned longcase clock, the twelve inch brass dial signed Thos Gardner, London, 208cm highOverall condition is very poor. It looks like an unfinished project. The case is heavily marked, broken and has missing parts. Sold as part for spares or for restoration. The case is cut down at the base. Not running or usable. The dial measures 41 x 29cm at the widest part. Collected from a house clearance.
A walnut and fruitwood cased longcase clock, the nine inch brass dial, signed Rob. Simpkin, Bishops Stortford, with a single hand, 189cm highOverall condition is poor. The case is 20th century in date and has no seat board for the dial. The dial measures 25cm square and is very dull and tarnished. The movement appears to be complete and free, but has no chain, glass, pendulum, or weights. Collected from a house clearance, where it appears to have been an unfinished project.
