An early 19th century mahogany longcase clock by Neeve Hingham, with painted dial and eight day striking movement with long arched trunk door and complete with weights and pendulum. Height 237 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The seat board in our opinion is original. It seems to be formed of similar pine to that of the cheeks and both the front edge of the seat board and side edges of the cheeks are chamfered. The seat board is warped. This could be rectified by physically attaching the seat board to the cheeks. The movement itself appears very clean and there is a clock makers repair label to the back dated '04. We have both weights and pendulum. Unfortunately the trunk door is currently locked and we do not have key for this so have not had the movement actually running. When weight is applied to the strike and going trains the movement appears to operate however. When the movement is seated correctly the mask around the dial seems to be a good fit. The case is in generally good order. There is some worm in the softwood around the cheeks seat board and other softwood areas. The hardwood seems largely unaffected.
