James Brock of Axbridge (Somerset) - 18th century 30-hour brass dial and birdcage longcase clock movement, with a 10" dial, engraved dial centre and chapter ring with Roman numerals, half hour markers and quarter hour track, single steel hand and- cast spandrels, chain driven countwheel movement, striking the hours on a domed cast bell. No Weight or Pendulum.
An 18th century oak cased eight-day longcase clock by Edward Barlow, Oldham. The 31cm (12") square brass dial with a penny moon phase dial at 12 o'clock, with subsidiary 29 1/2 day niche, and further calendar niche, the oak case with stepped hood and the door flanked by quarter columns, height 233cm.Additional images of the clock and movement are now online.We have not seen the clock working, but it is complete with two weights, pendulum, and winding key.The finials may be replacements, otherwise, general wear and tear, with no evidence of major repair or alteration.
An 18th century eight-day oak longcase clock by Robt Holborn, South Cave (Yorkshire). The 27cm (10 1/2") dial with subsidiary seconds dial and calendar niche, the swept cornice with applied gilt mouldings, the hood and case with blind fret carving and column sides, height 226cm.The clock is complete with a pendulum, two weights, and a winding key.It has been entered for sale from long-term storage, so we are unable to ascertain if it is in working order.The case is clean and presentable, with a little strengthening visible on the backThe movement is clean and appears complete. There is some historic woodworm on the seatboard.
NEWALL OF CLEOBURY - A 19th century mahogany cased 8-day longcase clock, with 14" painted enamel arch top dial featuring and image of the Duke of Wellington, with single subsidiary dial, oak fronted panels and inlaid decoration. W54cm, H235cm, D25cm.Some repairs visible to detail. One brass finial is damaged, and the blocks mounting the two others are later additions. Comes with winding key, detatched chime, two weights and pendulum (A/F).
S. WHALLEY, MANCHESTER; a Georgian oak cased eight-day longcase clock, the 13" brass dial with rolling moon phase and subsidiary date aperture, striking on a bell, above a shaped crossbanded door, to plinth base and bracket feet, height approx. 212cm.Condition Report: - Overall solid but used condition throughout, showing various signs of wear, including scuffs, scrapes, fading, staining, losses, splits, etc. The blind fret carved detail to the upper section of the hood is lacking some of the detail, with signs of old woodworm damage visible. Otherwise, appears ok. With two weights, winding key, case key and pendulum bob, although the stem and feather is missing.
A George II red jappaned longcase clock, by John Moys of Croydon, mid-18th century, the case with gilt chinoiserie decoration with flowers and figures, with three finials above the moulded cornice above Corinthian columns, the trunk with moulded door on plinth base with bracket feet, the arched brass dial enclosing a silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, the matted dial centre with subsidiary seconds dial at twelve and calendar aperture at six, the arch with convex silvered plaque signed John Moys Croydon, the twin train movement striking a bell, with pendulum and weights, 228cm highPlease note that Roseberys do not guarantee the working order or time keeping of any timepiece offered for sale. Press, 2022, p.556. Condition Report: Case - With wear throughout consistent with age and use, to include knocks and chips to edges, losses to lacquer, surface scratches and areas of repair. The moulding to right side beneath hood has been reattached with glue visible. Repaired break to moulding of arch to hood. The middle finial to hood has broken off but is present, the other two have been reattached - all three are replacements. Splits to backboard, and with small section replaced to left side behind hood. Seatboard probably a replacement. Hinges and lock to trunk door are replacements. Repaired break to top of interior of trunk door.Dial - With scratches and surface wear to dial plate and chapter ring. Small hairline fracture between 25 and 30. Tarnishing to reverse of false backplate. Hands with rusting. Movement - Tarnishing and surface scratches to backplate. Incised restorer's marks to backplate. Bending to pendulum holder. Tarnishing and wear to bell. Weights and pendulum are associated.

A George III oak and mahogany inlaid longcase clock with a glass fronted and brass capped columned hood. The clock is an 8-day key wound striking movement with second hand and date indicator. The arched topped face is painted with cattle and cottages, bearing the maker's name; T Collins, Soham. This clock is untested and as found.
