A 19th century oak cased eight day longcase clock, the moulded cornice above square face with circular chapter ring set with Roman numerals and with date aperture, inscribed "John Holloway, Newbury, Fecit", above single slender door and plinth base, height 190cm. CONDITION REPORT: Please see additional photographs. Split to base panel and door front. Possibly later panel below door. We cannot guarantee the mechanism is complete or in working order as we have not had it running in the saleroom.
A 1920s oak dresser incorporating an 18th century brass 10" longcase clock dial, the chapter ring set with Roman numerals and inscribed "Bayley, Uttoxeter", with an eight day fusee movement within the case, with boarded plate rack above three geometrically moulded drawers raised on barleytwist and block supports, length 164cm.

Shortman, Newnham to the centre under a calendar aperture, the case inlaid with boxwood lines and with short door flanked by canted sides, the hood surmounted by a moulded swan neck pediment and brass ball and spire finial, 86" high (pendulum and weight) *The front plate of the movement is stamped S.S. no. 16 1835 and the pendulum is also stamped. This will have been one of the first clocks that Samuel Shortman made at the age of around twenty

The movement has shouldered plates with rounded edges and baluster pillars. The back cock is of typical Whitehurst design
