The brass dial has brass spandrels, engraved boss with makers name, chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds dial. Two-train, eight-day movement. 229 x 56 cm. Conditions reports are not available for our Interiors Sale.
Thomas Houghton Chorley (1780-1840) Oak Cased 30 Hour Longcase Clock Twin weight, with broken pediment to top and flanked by twin pilasters. The square hand painted dial made by James Wilson of Birmingham. The dial decoration circa 1790's features birds, foliage and floral honeysuckle detail to corners. Roman numerals and filigree hands. Marked 'Houghton Chorley', to bottom centre. Height, 71 inches, width 20 inches. Case requires some restoration, original batch ticket fixed to back of dial.
