WILLIAM WALKER, LONDON A MAHOGANY 'PENNY MOON' LONGCASE CLOCK the eight day movement has five turned pillars and strikes the hours on a bell, the 11½ inch arched brass dial having engraved decoration to the four corners with engraved Roman hour numerals, Arabic quarter hours and a date aperture and seconds dial to the centre, along with the maker’s name engraved in scroll ‘Willm. Walker, London’, within the arch is an engraved ‘Penny Moon’ showing the moon phases through an aperture, around which is a raised chapter ring, on which is engraved the moon date and the time of high tide shown by the decorative blued steel hand, the stained case having an inset panel to the base with an arched door to the trunk, which has canted corners and with free standing pillars to the hood door, height 227cm.
SHEPHERDSON, DONCASTER AN OAK LONGCASE CLOCK the eight day movement strikes the hours on a bell, the 12 inch arched brass dial having cast rococo and floral spandrels to the four corners and dolphin spandrels to the arch either side of a silvered boss engraved with the maker’s name ‘Shepherdson, Doncaster’, with a matted dial centre engraved with rococo decoration and with a date aperture and seconds dial and blued steel hands, with the raised silvered chapter ring engraved with black Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markings, the arched top oak case has a shaped top to the trunk door, free standing pillars to the hood with gilt wood capitals and a plain base, height 208cm.
RICHARD STREET, LONDON A MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK. The eight day movement strikes the hours on a bell with an inside countwheel, the six turned and finned movement pillars are all latched, as are the dial pillars onto the frontplate, the 12 inch square brass dial having cast brass ‘cherub and head’ spandrels to the four corners, with a seconds dial and date aperture to the matted dial centre with wheatear border engraving to the edge of the dial breaking below the chapter ring at VI o’clock for the engraving of the maker’s name ‘Richard Streete, London’, the raised silvered chapter ring engraved with black Roman hour numerals, and Arabic five minute numerals with engraved arrow head crosses at the half hours and 7½ minutes and with blued steel hands, the later mahogany case having a plain base with a shaped top to the trunk door and with free standing hood pillars, each with gilded Corinthian capitals, height 210cm.
WILLIAM WILSON, KENDALL A MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK the eight day movement strikes the hours on a bell, the 12½ inch arched brass dial having a matted centre with rococo engraving, a seconds dial and a date aperture, with cast cherub-head spandrels to the four corners and cast dolphin spandrels to the arch either side of a silvered boss engraved with a coat of arms, the raised silvered chapter ring engraved with black Roman hour numerals, Arabic five minute numerals and decorative half-hour markings with the maker’s name ‘Will. Wilson, Kendall’ engraved either side of VI and with blued steel hands, the mahogany case having a swan neck pediment to the hood with large carved floral paterae and a turned wooden finial, the front and rear quartered pillars to the hood have giltwood capitals, with canted corners to the trunk and base and mahogany crossbanding to the trunk door, height 246cm.
A Wiltshire 18th century oak longcase clock, the eight day movement striking on a bell, the square 12in. brass and silvered dial with subsidiary seconds dial above a scrolling foliage engraved cartouche inscribed John Fry, Melksham, a calendar aperture, pierced cast gilt rococo spandrels, the hood with pagoda top, ball finials, dentil and ogee frieze, the glazed door with gilt capped pilasters, the arched waist door inlaid a parquetry star and stringing, fluted angle corners, the plinth base reduced. 6ft. 9in. (206cm.) high.
A George III mahogany longcase clock, the eight day movement striking on a bell, the arched 12in. silvered dial with strike silent regulation above subsidiary seconds and calendar dials, inscribed Wilmshurst, Chichester, the arched hood with brass capped and stop fluted pillars flanking glazed door, the trunk with a well figured veneered arched door flanked by stop fluted angled corners, the base with outline moulding to the figured panel. 6ft. 11in. (211cm.)
A George III mahogany longcase clock, the 12inch brass dial with silvered chapter ring, matted centre, subsidiary seconds dial, two winding holes and square date aperture, with pierced hands, a subsidiary Srike/Silent ring above the arch circumscribed THOMAS TOUSE LONDON and with giltmetal spandrels, having eight-day movement in figured break-arch case with brass mounted stop fluted pillars and cut corner curl veneered door flanked by conforming pilasters, on panelled base, 225cm h . The top of the hood reduced by about four inches and with a later and quite inappropriate replacement stained wood pediment of swan neck type, the dial and chapter ring rather stained, the movement apparently complete, small chip to the beading beneath the hood. A fine quality London made longcase which apart from the reduction in height is a good example of the type.
A George III oak longcase clock, the 12inch brass dial signed to the centre Robt Bowers Chester, with subsidiary seconds dial, two winding holes, circular date aperture and giltmetal spandrels and eight-day movement, in mahogany banded case with brass mounted swan-neck pediment and fluted pillars, the shaped door flanked by conforming pilasters, on panelled base and bracket feet, 222cm h. A few old worm holes around the door, the dial discoloured but the movement and dial original, minor vertical split in the panel to the base but in overall good original condition and in need of superficial or cosmetic work only

In generally good condition with small loss to the moulding on the cornice, the dial and movement original, a vertical split in the base, a little light in colour overall but no serious faults; consigned by local executors

A George III oak longcase clock, the 11inch brass dial signed on an oval tablet to the matted centre Hugh Lough PENRITH, with date sector and roman chapters, rococo spandrels, pierced steel hands and thirty hour movement, having stepped cavetto cornice and turned pillars enclosed by a notched full length door, on conforming base and bracket feet, 205cm h. Movement and dial associated and with faults although largely complete. The case of fine colour and in sound original condition, a vertical split in the base, the plinth-feet old replacements, with a weight but no pendulum, a small hole in the left hand side of the trunk of this longcase.
