(winder, two weights and pendulum) Provenance: Countess of Shannon and thence by descent, until being sold in 1972.
Good early 18th century longcase clock with thirty hour movement, 11 inch brass dial with foliate and face mask spandrels, matted centre with engraved birds, single pierced hand and silvered chapter ring, signed - William Gunn. Wallingford, in a simple ebonised oak case, 184cm overall height. N.B. William Gunn was a Quaker and worked in Wallingford in early 18th century. 18th century longcase clock with eight day movement, 12 inch brass breakarch dial, face mask spandrels, ringed winding holes, matted centre, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, breakarch with dolphin spandrels and signed - Christopher Goddard London, in a mahogany case with arch top, hood with fluted columns, pagoda top and two ball finials, 233cm overall height (weights and pendulum present, key lacking) CONDITION REPORT General overall condition good. Movement is clean and as far as we are aware is in working order. There is no evidence of major damage or repair, however, movement may have been cleaned professionally. Dial has been cleaned, possibly with Brasso and any trace of possible original silvering removed. Case is in good overall condition. Some traces of past woodworm holes now filled. Plinth has some cracks and lower part may have been added or repaired

An 18th Century Oak Longcase Clock with thirty hour movement by Richard Marshall. The 10¼ ins (26 cms) square brass dial with a single steel hand, engraved chapter ring with Roman numerals encircling a calendar aperture and round maker's plaque inscribed 'Rich Marshall 1752'. The case with flat hood surmounted by three turned ball finials, a break-arch topped trunk door and moulded base on bracket feet 83 ins (211 cms) high.
An 18th Century Oak Eight-day Longcase Clock by Sherwood of Doncaster. The 12¼ inch (31 cm) brass dial having a silvered convex roundel engraved with maker's name in the break arch top, flanked by cast dolphin mounts, above a silvered chapter ring encircling subsidiary seconds and calendar dials surrounded by engraved sprays of scrolling foliage. The hood with a moulded swan-neck pediment surmounted by brass spired finials, 93½ ins (237 cms) overall in height. 2x keys (1x winding), 2x weights and a pendulum.
A Late 18th Century Oak Longcase Clock. The eight day movement having a 12 inch (30.5 cm) square brass dial signed Courtier Ruthin, with a seconds and calendar subsidiary dial to the centre encircled by a silvered chapter ring and embellished with scrolling gilt brass spandrels. The case having a flat topped hood with blind fret carved frieze and octagonal side columns. The trunk with a shaped lip-moulded door with mahogany cross-banding flanked by recessed quarter columns, 79¾ ins (203 cms) high.

Hadwen, Liverpool, a late 18th century mahogany longcase clock, the broken arch hood with ball finial, fluted columns, 13inch dial with moonphase disc, seconds dial and date aperture, 4 pillar 8 day movement, the trunk with quarter columns to the corners, on a canted rectangular base, ogee bracket feet, 237cm (92in) Condition report: the finial is now detached.
William Cattell in Fleet Street Londini fecit, a 17th century walnut marquetry month going longcase clock, the hood with later giltwood cresting above gilt pilasters, 10inch dial signed at the foot, winged mask spandrels, slender chapter ring and seconds dial, date aperture, maintaining power, scored winding squares, large outside countwheel to the six pillar movement, (five of which latched), latched dial feet, the trunk with three marquetry panels to the door, marquetry front plinth, on bun feet, 210cm (82in), measures approximately 255 cm with the hood lifted. William Cattell is recorded by Britten as working 1664-90, apprenticed to Edward Stanton 1664, made a Freeman of the Clockmaker's Company in 1672. Condition report: Chapter ring outer engraving rather faint. Chapter ring possibly later. Seconds dial possibly replacement. Hands probably later. Seatboard looks old. Crack across top of trunk door. Various other marks and typical cracks and age-related wear and tear. Lacks one side throat convex moulding.
An imposing walnut seaweed marquetry longcase clock, the caddy top hood with fretwork mouldings, 12.25inch dial with silvered calendar ring to the arch, dolphin spandrels below, silvered chapter ring and seconds dial, marked to a recessed oval 'D.Delander, London, No.9', strike silent lever to the right side, mask spandrels, 4 pillar 8 day movement with replacement seatboard, rectangular trunk door and plinth with replaced skirting, restorations, 249cm (97in) Condition report: Case has a warm colour and appropriate looking shrinkage to mouldings. Skirting looks later. Small losses and knocks to case. Trunk lock key present (later lock). Non-original winding key. Good looking dial although we are unsure whether this is the original movement. Movement appears to fit though it is a simple four pillar type. We are unsure as to the authenticity of the Delander name on the dial. Trunk door with loose moulding and part missing (see photo). Slight packing under seatboard. Guiderails possibly replaced. The inside of case appears to have an old colour wash. Two brass case weights present.
