Hartley Norwich, within an ovoid cartouche , the rococo spandrels cast with crowns and putti, with an eight day four pillar movement striking a bell, the case with a moulded cornice above part turned and parcel gilt pilasters, the feather banded door with a moulded edge and a glass and brass roundel, on a plinth, with two lead weights and a pendulum, 212cm high overall.

A Scottish 19th century mahogany longcase clock, 8 day duration, the arched painted dial signed 'R Dalgliesh, Falkirk', with moonphase disc, concentric calendar and seconds, the hood with swanneck pediment above shaped top trunk door flanked by quarter pilasters, with pendulum and 2 weights 225cm highCondition:Unusual pin wheel escapement. Has slight warp noticeable to upper left of trunk door. Small packing pieces supporting seatboard, which is possibly later and rather thin. Therefore this could be a mariage, but seems to be quite a good fit to case. Movement has a Wilson falseplate. Currently ticking and striking. Seconds hand very close to glass of door with a tendancy to catch; hand may therefore be slightly out of shape. The Plinth base has a horizontal shrinkage split across it. Arch of dial door with a couple of splits also. Slight sun fading noted to left side of case.

GEORGE II MAHOGANY MONTH-GOING LONGCASE CLOCK, DANIEL OR NATHANIEL DELANDER, LONDON 1730s the engraved silvered brass dial with Roman hours and subsidiary seconds dial with bolt and shutter maintaining power lever and winder cover, with a Duplex escapement, signed 'Delander/ London', the hood with a shaped and moulded cornice with reeded block finials and scroll brackets, and flanked by canted angles with brass lined stop fluting, above a shaped trunk door flanked by stop fluted quarter columns with brass capitals, on a plinth base outlined with moulding and raised on bracket feet; the month-going movement with duplex escapement with bolt and shutter retaining power(47cm wide, 207cm high, 25cm deep)Footnote: Note: The Delander family of clockmakers spanned several generations from the 17th into the latter 18th century, and produced superbly crafted and innovative clocks and timepieces. Arguably the most famous of the Delanders was Daniel, who was an inventor as well as a highly skilled clockmaker. He was apprenticed in 1692 to Charles Halstead and, later, to Thomas Tompion and became a member of the Clockmakers' Company in 1699. Among his innovations were a patented watch case spring closing mechanism, and a year-going equation. He is credited with improving the duplex escapement so that it could be used in longcase clocks. He died in 1733 and his son Nathaniel, also a highly respected maker, succeeded him, working until 1762. Clocks by Daniel are in the collection of the Guildhall Museum, the Weatherfield Collection, the Science Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

CAMERON AND SONS, KILMARNOCK, EARLY 19TH CENTURY, IN LATER OAK LONGCASE, CIRCA 1870s, the bonnet composed of a classical broken pediment cornice centering a stylized fan detail and flanked by two acroteria, above a reeded frieze and flat architrave over a hinged door with glazed arch rectangular window, opening to a conforming Arabic numerals moon phases dial centering painted moon faces on a lapis blue sky filled with golden stars, above a silvered ring dial with black Roman hour chapters and Arabic five minute numerals, enclosing a minutes ring dial and days of the month ring dial with blued steel pointers, amidst engraved scrolling acanthus centering blued steel halberd and pike hands flanked by twin key escapements, engraved signature "J. Cameron & Sons Kilmarnock," above along hinged door with a molding framed twist pleated panel over a molded flat panel, opening to a long pendulum with brass disc bob and two cast iron weights, above exterior reeded trim on a molded box form paneled base raised on a molding detailed arched plinth ending as block form feet, includes one winding lever. Height: 7' 4 1/4" Width: 21" Depth: 15 3/4" Provenance: Personal Collection of Nora Grossman, Houston, Texas. Condition: Good condition with a few light marks and small scratches around base, dings, tiny edge nicks and surface buildup in crevices throughout. The clock dials have some expected tarnished spots and there is light dust in spandrel crevices. The mechanism was restored in 1975 and is clean.
