A 19th century mahogany longcase clock, the circular painted dial set with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, inscribed 'W M Digby of Dublin' above arched door and plinth base, height 191.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: The dial has been repainted and is associated to the clock and case, it is possible that the clock has been a 8 day conversion from a 30 hour, inside the door is an early remanence of an early paper label.

A George III oak longcase clock, 31cm circular enamel dial inscribed Rea, Walton, Roman and subsidiary Arabic numerals, painted with roses, date aperture, 30-hour movement striking on a bell, the hood with stepped cornice, turned columns, shaped rectangular door to waist, bracket feet, 198cm high, c.1800 The Reas were a clockmaking family from Walton-on-Trent, Derbys., this particular clock being the work of the last of the line, Sampson Rea, working from c. 1795 until his death in 1817. He was youngest son of Thomas Rea (1719-1782) to whom he was apprenticed, like his brother John, with whom he worked 1782-1792 signing clocks as Rea & Co., but thereafter, as here, Rea/Walton. Condition Report: generally good

A George III longcase clock dial and movement, 30.5cm arched brass dial, inscribed Benjamin Lockwood/Swaffham, Roman and Arabic chapter, strike/silent to arch, subsidiary seconds dial, twin winding holes, 8-day movement striking on a bell, 42.5cm high, c.1765Benjamin Lockwood was born in Norfolk in 1738, was apprenticed in London to Peter Hay of St. James, Clerkenwell, in 1753 and set up in Swaffham in 1760, being married to Mary Browne there in February 1766. and is recorded as working until 1795. He died in Swaffham 3rd November 1822

He signed clocks from both Sunderland and Darlington and died in 1753. Condition Report: Metal stops to flutes of quarter columns coming slightly loose.
