CONDITION REPORT: Movement and dial possibly associated. Dial repainted. No warp, split to side of case. Bit of pediment detached but present. Two weights and pendulum present.
A George III oak longcase clock, the broken swan neck pediment above arched dial set with rolling moon phase with silvered chapter ring inscribed "Thos Shaw Ashburn", with subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture and eight day movement, above shaped door flanked by quarter turned pilasters to a moulded plinth base, height 207cm. CONDITION REPORT: Split repair to hood. Small section of moulding missing. Case has been varnished. Scratches to rolling phase. Split to plinth base. Width of brass dial (edge to edge, not just chapter ring): 33cm. Pendulum and two weights present. Part of the movement has been removed. Clock is probably a marriage - please refer to photos.

An early 19th Century inlaid mahogany longcase clock, signed Richardson Brampton With a 35cm white arched dial with subsidiary seconds and date dials, Roman numerals, the spandrels painted with flower heads and leaves, the arch decorated with a pastoral of a shepherdess, the two train eight day movement with anchor escapement, rack striking on a bell, the case with a swan neck cresting above baluster hood columns, the trunk with a panelled door with well figured wood, raised on a plinth base and bracket feet, overall with rosewood crossbanding, with two weights and a pendulum, 225 x 54cm. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2161 The case, restoration to the the right hand swan neck, half way down, possibly lacking rosettes to the roundels at the tips of the swan neck, minor piece of veneer missing left hand side of frieze above left hand baluster column 1.5 x 1cm , some bruising to the left hand baluster column, possible old breaks to each baluster column, just above the vase shaped baluster where it joins the long slender baluster, traces of old glue and restoration on the left hand side of the top baluster, re veneering to the right hand angle of the arched glazed door where the hinge is attached, minor slither of veneer right hand side to the right of the column 1 x 1.5cm, trunk door well figured no warp, good feather figuring to the panel above the door, lower panel possibly replaced veneer inside of the cross banding small section left hand side 3 x 1cm, original back board with blocks, the arched dial some crackling to the white enamel, some rubbing to the gilt decoration to the spandrels, movement complete with pendulum.

David Hatfield, Bosworth, an oak longcase clock: the eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell, the square brass twelve-inch dial having a raised chapter ring engraved with black Roman numerals, Arabic five minute outer numerals, fleur-de-lys half-hour markings and engraved either side of VI o'clock with the maker's name David Hatfield, Bosworth, the matted dial centre with ringed winding holes, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture and engraved with bee and bird decoration, with cast-brass urn corner spandrels and blued steel decorative hands, the oak-flat top case with plain three-quarter pillars to the hood with cast brass capitals, a shaped top to the trunk door and standing on shaped bracket feet, height 206cm. * Biography David Hatfield is recorded as working in Bosworth having been apprenticed in London in 1732.
Lawrie, Carlisle, a painted oak chiming longcase clock: the later Victorian eight-day duration, three-train movement chiming the quarters on eight bells and the hours on a gong, the square twelve-inch brass dial having a raised chapter ring engraved with black Roman numerals and Arabic outer numerals, the dial centre engraved with scroll decoration and with the maker's name Lawrie, Carlisle, with cast-brass c-scroll spandrels to the four corners, with a lever at III o'clock for silent/chime and at III o'clock for 4 Bells/8 Bells, the oak flat top case with full turned pillars to the hood, a shaped top to the trunk door, quarter columns to the trunk, all with later painted decoration including female figures and floral swags, height 206cm. * Biography Archibald Lawrie of Carlisle is recorded as working in Carlisle in the mid 18th century having been married in 1748; a watch signed by him is known to have been in the well known Ilbert Collection.
