The arch decorated with dancers and pointer hand for six tunes playing on a nest of fourteen bells. The swan neck hood with brass ball and spike finial, turned pillars, line inlaid trunk with canted corners, 92" high (2 x iron weights and pendulum)Dial - good and colourful although crazed all over.Movement - untested, appears to not to have seen any work in a long time, only two weights, pendulum suspension broken.Case - in need of some restoration, right hand swan neck detached as is the finial, hood glass cracked, split to base, feet cut down, some old repairs.

A mid-19th century mahogany ‘Rocking Ship’ 8-day Longcase Clock, signed S. Magnus, Swansea, with two-weight movement striking on a bell, the painted and enamelled 13-inch arched dial with Roman chapter, subsidiary seconds and date aperture and rocking ship automata to the arch, the case with boxwood stringing and spiral twist columns, long trunk door, arched hood with three ball finials, 91in (231cm) high, with two weights and pendulum. Condition: overall good condition, clock currently running and striking, but we cannot guarantee it.

John Smith of Chester - late 18th century mahogany 8-day longcase, brass moon roller dial and three-train movement, with a swans necked pediment, brass paterie and an inlaid oval to the centre, hood door with contrasting banding and scalloped edge, shaped back splats and reeded pilasters with Corinthian capitals, trunk with canted corners, wavy topped door with conforming banding and inlay, square plinth with an applied decorative base, brass dial with scroll spandrels, diagonally engraved dial centre, wide chapter ring with Roman numerals, five minute Arabic's and minute dots, seconds dial, date aperture and steel hands, makers name boldly engraved round the arch of the dial, rack striking movement with a recoil anchor escapement, striking the hours on one bell and the quarters on four. With three brass cased weights, pendulum and key. The 30cm square brass dial with later arch, painted a country scene, contained in a later mahogany case, height 96cm.The movement has not been working for some time and will need attention. The later mahogany case is off at the plinth base with an associated split to base moulding and section off but present. The plumb is off the pendulum rod but present, with two weights, the minute hand is off but present. No key.
