Lot 1923

A Regency rosewood small open bookcase, with marble top, turned columns, adjustable shelves and plinth base. Width 88 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Height 88 cm, shelf depth 13 cm, overall depth 18 cm at top and 15 cm at plinth. The marble top which appears later has been cracked from front to back and repaired. There is also a loss to the centre of the top of the marble approximately 2 cm in length and 3 or 4 mm deep. The brass foliate gallery beneath the marble is in generally good order with one split around the right hand corner which in our opinion is not problematic. The brass capitals are in good order as are both columns. The sides of the piece are in very good condition. The shelves are in good condition. The plinth base has some minor losses to the veneers. The shelves are not fully adjustable they could be moved but the side supports would need to be unscrewed and physically reattached.

Lot 1960

An Edwardian inlaid rosewood octagonal centre table, raised on tapered legs of square section united by stretchers and raised on a circular shelf. Width 92 cm.

A Victorian walnut and satinwood chess topped table, with metal mounts, cabriole legs and low shelf. Diameter 45 cm.

Lot 2000

A satin birch cupboard in the manner of Holland, with moulded cornice above a pair of panelled cupboard doors with wooden knob handle and raised on a plinth. Width 91 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Depth 39 cm, width 91 cm, height 107 cm, shelf depth 31 cm. The cabinet is structurally sound. The top is in good order with no losses only minor old surface marks and scratches. The black dots are in the main paint splashes which remove when rubbed. The doors close as they should. They are not warped. The spring loaded catch operates as it should. The brass hinges are marked Horne Patent. The left hand door retaining brass slides operate as they should. The interior shelves are a little stained but perfectly serviceable. The sides of the piece are in good order. The backboards are original. The plinth base has minor nibbles around the corners and returns as one would expect.

Lot 2005

A 19th century mahogany boot and hat rack, with low shelf and scroll feet. Width 45 cm, height 116 cm (see illustration).

An Edwardian mahogany square display cabinet, raised on legs of square moulded section united by a shaped shelf. Width 35 cm.

Lot 2021

A small Regency mahogany chiffonier, with rear shelved upstand, two drawers and pair of doors and raised on short turned legs. Width 59 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The pediment shelf, turned supports and top of the piece are in generally good condition with only minor surface scratches and old stress fractures to the veneers. The top is flat. The moulded edge to the top is all intact. The right hand drawer has a stress fracture to the veneer and a replacement lock escutcheon. There is also a small nibble to the top right hand corner. The left hand drawer similarly has a replacement lock escutcheon. We have both locks and keys. The doors are in generally good order with no warping. We have the lock and key. The sides of the cabinet are in generally good condition as is the plinth moulding and original feet. The backboards are original and in good order.

Lot 2051

A Regency rosewood inlaid sewing table, the lift up top with canted angles, raised on splayed legs with low shelf and cloth bag. Width 40 cm.

Lot 2056

An Art Deco glass and chrome two tier trolley. Width 67 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The stand is structurally sound with no repairs, damage or restoration. The castors are original. The castor supports and wheels are showing slight signs of rust. The chrome plating is generally dirty but does not seem to have any losses. The mirrored shelves do not have any significant damage but do have minor edge and corner nibbles. Some of the paintwork to the underside is chipped and scratched. This is more evident when viewed from the top surface. One shelf has a nibble to one corner, a small chip to one side and several further small edge nibbles. The second tray has one small corner nibble and one small edge chip with various other very small nibbles, none of these in our opinion serious.

Lot 2165

A Victorian mahogany open bookcase, with three quarter gallery, adjustable shelves and short turned feet. Width 123 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The right hand return section of the gallery is loose and there is an old loss of approximately 4 cm to the top rear right hand corner. The top shelf is in generally good condition with only the usual surface marks that one would expect. The crossbanded edge has minor veneer losses to the left hand return. The beaded moulding to the section below the top edge has approximately 8 cm missing on the right hand return. The sides of the bookcase are in good order. The backboards are original. The feet are in good condition and the piece is structurally sound with no evidence of any woodworm. Height to top of rear up stand 104.5 cm, depth at deepest point 29 cm, shelf depth 25 cm.
