A MINIATURE WRITING BUREAU AND TWO MINIATURE SETS OF DRAWERS comprising a wooden miniature bureau with a fold-out writing slope supported by two pull-out beams, three small pull-out drawers inside the slope compartment, with an inlaid six-point star, three drawers fitted with padded material to the interior (chip to two of drawers, split to the slope, white paint splatters, chip and split to the reverse), height 25cm x width 28cm x depth 17cm, a miniature cabinet with a pull-out drawer and a cupboard with an interior shelf, height 26cm x width 19cm x depth 11.5cm (part of the drawer broken but included), and a miniature chest of drawers with three drawers, height 19cm x width 21cm x depth 12cm (loss to the top), some with pencil marks to the underside or with the drawers, possibly apprentice models (3) (Condition Report: some flecks of paint, scratches)

CHANDLER, (Raymond), The High Window, first US edition, Alfred. A. Knopf, 1942, together with The High Window, first UK edition, London, Hamish Hamilton, 1943, (2)Condition Report: There are two extra images of The High Window, US edition. The book has shelf lean, wear to the tips and looses to the base edge of the spine, wear to the top. Noticeable stains and marks to the paper to the insides of the boards. There is an oval mark to the lower edge of p143 which runs through to page 152. Small oval water marks on p174-175, but overall the pages are quite clean with hardly any foxing. The High Window, UK edition. Noticeable shelf lean, tips bent over, fading to boards. Minor foxing to one or two pages, good overall.
An early Victorian mahogany bookcase, with glazed upper section with reel turned mouldings, enclosing three shelves, above two panelled doors, enclosing a shelf and fitted interior, on plinth base, converted from a larger book case, H193 x W117.5 x D34cm Condition Report: The bookcase is on one section.There are three adjustable shelves to the top. The upper latch does not work but the lower latch does. The upper and lower door have replaced escutcheons. There is a key and it locks the upper section and another key for the lower section. There is one long shelf to the base and two later pine shelves to the right half. In good houseworn condition overall, a little faded to the base.

A vintage 1960s Norwegian teak drinks-cabinet bookcase - stamped 'Made in Norway B83-35' to reverse, the separate open bookcase top with a central full-width cupboard with an enclosed back, adjustable glass shelf and two sliding doors with a frosted spindle design, above a base with two flush-fitting, corner hinged doors without handles, enclosing a four-shelf interior, the upper right hand shelf with sliding mechanism, perforated fibreboard back, on tapered supports. Upon his return he wrote an account of his visit for distribution to family and friends. "On the second day of my visit to Halifax, I had lunch at Rockingham with Mrs. Keyston and her daughter Judith, at their lovely home. Robins larger than thrushes and canaries as plentiful as English house-sparrows made their garden for me just an unbelievable experience, which is hardly surprising since it was the first garden I had seen on this side of the Atlantic and yet I ought to have been prepared for any and every surprise!"
