Lot 956

THE WAILING WAILERS - S/T LP - ORIGINAL JAMAICAN PRESSING - STUDIO 1 (S1001). Introducing The Rude Boys: a certain Robert Marley, Peter McIntosh and Neville Livingston, and here they are with their stunning debut LP! This is a wonderful original Jamaican copy released on Studio One in 1966. The record is in wonderful Ex+ condition. Seemingly having very few plays, there are very few markings to the playing surfaces, there are only a couple of extremely minor and faint wispy markings. As is the nature of these early Jamaican pressings, there is some 'pitting' to the vinyl itself, however this is very unlikely to cause any real disturbance to playback. Matrix: (etched) LP-CS1266-A1 WIRL & LP-CS 1266-B1 WIRL. The sleeve is in Ex condition. With fantastic colour throughout, it will be hard pushed to find another looking like this - again, as is the nature of these thick card sleeves, there is a small seam split along the bottom edge. Elsewhere there is only very minor edgewear with virtually no shelf wear noted. We hope the winning bidder will take note of the sleeve notes: "Let's put it on - I mean the disc."

Lot 963

NICK DRAKE - FIVE LEAVES LEFT LP (ORIGINAL UK PRESSING - ISLAND ILPS 9184). Where it all began then for Nick Drake, who recorded this album under the keen eye of Joe Boyd when he was just 20 years old. This is a stunning example 1st UK pressing (Island black 'block' smooth labels ILPS 9105 and misprint sleeve with tracks A4 and A5 switched and 'Tristam Fry' credit). The record is in mind blowing Ex+ or archive condition. Barring some light dust build-up, there are no discernible markings. The distinct lack of spindle markings leads us to believe that this could very well be a true 'unplayed' copy. Matrix: ILPS 9105 A//2 & B//2. The gatefold sleeve is in Ex+ condition. Unlikely to come across finer, the matte nature of the design means that is effectively impossible to see without any markings. This copy is superb with only a couple of very minor visible markings on the front and some very slight and minor shelf wear. A stunner.

Lot 964

JETHRO TULL - THIS WAS LP (ORIGINAL UK PRESSING - ISLAND ILPS 9085). Top example original UK pressing of the 1968 LP (Island orange bullseye rough labels ILPS 9085). The record is in fantastic Ex+ condition showing only one or two exceedingly faint paper markings. The fully laminated gatefold sleeve is in Ex+ condition with only a little shelf wear to the otherwise very crisp and sharp wide spine.

Lot 989

Sorrow (stereo black/blue Columbia SCX 6306, -1/-1 matrix endings - VG+ record showing some light surface markings which are at no point of a heavier nature, the record still maintains a very glossy finish with very clean and sharp labels/VG+ a very neat example of the gatefold sleeve with only a little light laminate wear with a very small 'start' of seam split on the middle section (right side) on the inside of the gatefold; an overall top copy) and Parachute (Harvest unboxed original SHVL 774 - VG+ with a non-feelable surface mark noted at the start of side 1, elsewhere very clean/VG with a clean front, there is some creasing to the laminate on the reverse and some shelf wear).
