Foster (Lieut. Col. Rodney) Autobiography, 19 manuscript diaries covering the period 1882-1962, each approx. 11 x 8in. The diaries are very comprehensive and include 100's of watercolours, maps, photographs and caricatures plus biographical descriptions and thumb nail sketches of many of the people mentioned, particularly the military. Also included is a manuscript binder identifying 'Fosters' in the British Army since the 18th century, 2 vols of watercolours which include caricatures, cartoons, native inhabitants and military types, a bound volume of individual 'La Vie Parisienne' magazines, 1920's, a contemporary typescript diary 'Chitral Reliefs 1904' with the supporting column. A Fine Regency Period Mahogany Collector's Cabinet having an apexed back with a shallow shelf on S-scroll supports, edged in turned beading reflected on the top of the cabinet. The two glazed front doors displaying twin banks of twelves cock-beaded drawers lined in paper and having decoratively cast gilt brass knobs. Standing 41 ins (104 cms) wide, and 60 ins (152 cms) tall on a plinth base.

An Art Nouveau Oak Sideboard, in two stages, the inverted breakfronted upper part with projecting cornice above a central open shelf flanked by a pair of doors, the upper part with leaded coloured and moulded glass windows, each depicting a stylized rose, the panels beneath moulded with similar rose motifs, the lower part with a pair of central drawers above an alcove flanked by a pair of doors repeating the rose motif of the upper part, raised on bulbous turned square legs united by a side stretcher and with plated hammered metal furniture throughout.
