A very fine Arts and Crafts period/style mahogany Display Cabinet by Shapland and Petter of Barnstaple, North Devon, (and in possible collaboration with Wylie and Lochead, Glasgow), the decorative designs influenced by Glasgow school designer E A Taylor (1874-1951), Scottish Artist, Etcher, Stained Glass Designer and Furniture Designer, the three quarter galleried superstructure with Art Nouveau style marquetry motifs and single shelf and with square supports above a moulded serpentine fronted shelf above central leaded light glazed door enclosing conforming serpentine shelf and flanked by two panelled angular panelled doors each with individual specimen wood marquetry of trees and water etc., the hand made silvered strap hinges as sinuous toadstools, with similar marquetry panelled sides and two recessed arched shelving display areas below accented with pierced heart motifs, on stile feet leading to downswept rectangular feet with bun style terminals, the central leaded door opening to reveal original retailers label of A. Gardner & Son, 36 Jamaica St., Glasgow, (Gardner & Son are know to have retailed Wylie and Lochead furniture circa 1900), in fine good and original untouched condition, 143cm wide x 173.5cm high x 44cm (deepest point to centre)

An 18th Century oak Cipher Didarn With a cavetto cornice above a plain frieze with pendant turned finials above a pair of fielded panelled cupboard doors enclosing a shelf, the lower part with a rectangular moulded top above a pair of frieze drawers and a pair of panelled cupboard doors each with an arrangement of two vertical and a long horizontal panel, panelled sides raised upon extended style supports. 183x108x54cms.

A George III oak panelled freestanding corner wall cupboard With a cavetto cornice above a pair of cupboard doors, each with raised panels enclosing three shaped shelves, the lower part with two panelled cupboard doors enclosing a plain shelf, flanked by canted angles, raised upon a plinth base, 190x104x44cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cupboard is in one piece, good colour, original cornice, H hinges replaced, lacking escutcheon, original good rich oak curvilinear shelves, green leafy applied material back cloth, lower two panelled doors good colour, original old oak shelf, the back, two sections left and right original, centre angle replaced and part of the base of the back replaced, measurement: front to back 48.5cms, the front left to right 104cms, the angle which abuts the wall 62cms.

A Victorian mahogany clerks desk The raised back with a spindle gallery above a concave shelf flanked by pedestals enclosing four short drawers with hinged locks, the lower part with a leather lined hinged writing slope with a fitted interior with an arrangement of five pigeon holes and a short drawer above an arrangement of three drawers raised upon sphere and fluted vase shape legs, brass shoes and castors. 107x147x66cms.
A fine Edwardian inlaid mahogany dome top display cabinet The double dome top with an ovolo cornice above a frieze inlaid with roundels above an inverted front with a pair of glazed cabinet doors enclosing two plate glass shelves flanked on either side by glazed panels with a ribbon tied beaded and leaf carved oval, the lower part of bowfront outline above a frieze drawer, a pair of bowfront cupboard doors enclosing a shelf flanked on either side by a frieze drawer with brass laurel leaf handles above a cupboard door with a feathered mahogany oval and enclosed by ribbon tied bell flowers overall inlaid with ebony chequering line inlays raised upon six vase shape legs each inlaid with roundels. 227x153.5x50cms approx. A George III inlaid mahogany spinet signed John Broadwood & Son, London The rectangular hinged cover with a fall front, 93cm keyboard above a signed panel John Broadwood & Son, London against a satinwood ground flanked by fret work panels above a moulded plinth, shaped apron raised upon tapering legs and spade feet with an incurved shelf complete with foot pedal, brass shoes and castors. 82x164x60cms. With a receipt from WF Greenwood & Sons, Harrogate 1954. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2322: The rectangular top hinged with two hinged front sections right hand side faded in relation to left hand side, some stain marks, surface scratching. Comes with a bill of sale 21.11.53 from W F Greenwood and Sons, Harrogate £450. Fret work inlay left and right hand side of John Broadwood plaque good condition. Stand would appear to be original to the top, would note the inlay around the top of the leg is a single piece of line inlay as apposed to the cabinet top is inlaid with ebony and boxwood line inlays. No breaks to legs, no visible worm, most of the notes play with the exception of about four, completely out of turn. Wires generally that some appear stretched, cabinet in good condition.
A fine early Victorian burr walnut secrétaire à abattant The rectangular well figured top raised on a plinth above a frieze drawer with a moulded border, the hinged fall front with a curvilinear ribbon tied C-scroll and foliate panel enclosing a satinwood inlaid interior with a purple Morocco leather and gilt tooled writing surface with five pigeonholes, each with blind fret carved arcaded tops above an arrangement of seven satinwood drawers with ebony turned handles above a pair of panelled cupboard doors, similarly applied with leaves and flowers enclosing a shelf flanked by outset columns carved with lilies, flowers and scrolls, raised upon an inverted breakfront plinth, 182x81x41cm. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2343: Appears very good condition the rectangular top typical surface scratching for age but minor, frieze drawer good condition, linings with quadrant mouldings good condition, pendant scrolls flowers and leaves good condition, shaped sea scroll and flowers applied to the front good condition. Usual scratching associated with the fall front resting on the support. Interior very bright, leather and gilt writing pad good condition and bright. Minor veneer missing to the left hand edge of the front of the fall edge approximately 2cm x 2cm and on the opposite edge a small slither of veneer 1cm x 1cm. Blind fret arcades good condition, all drawers good condition with original handles, hinges sound and fall front, brass levers good condition, panel cupboard doors panels good condition, no warping to veneer. Interior one shelf adjustable, leaf carved applied flowers and leaves to the left hand side and right good condition, some old polish staining around the bottom of the plinth, original back, good condition.
