An Arts & Crafts oak students bureau, with shelf, fall front and open shelves beneath. Width 69 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Height to top of upstand 126.5 cm. Depth at deepest point 37 cm. Depth of bottom shelf 30 cm. Shelf above 26 cm. Internal bureau depth 32 cm. The bureau is in generally good order. There are no structural issues and no evidence of any woodworm. The right hand return to the rear upstand has two small timber losses right at the rear of the section where it joins the taller section of the back. There are also some very minor nibbles to the front edge of the top shelf. The bureau slope is flat and not warped. All brassware is original. The interior has some minor ink stains. There is an inkwell aperture but no inkwell. The remainder of the fitted interior is in good order. The drawer runs as it should. The right hand waist moulding has a very small loss right at the rear edge which in our opinion is barely significant. The backboards are original and the piece is structurally very sound.
A Victorian rosewood whatnot stand, with fretwork gallery, twist turned supports, frieze drawer and raised on turned legs with brass castors. Width 54 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Maximum height 115 cm. Depth 40.5 cm. The whatnot is in extremely good order. There no losses to the fretwork upstand and all three shelves are a very good colour with no significant surface marks. All turned spindles are present and in good condition. The drawer runs as it should. All legs are in good condition with no damage or repairs and all castors are original. The only very minor issue is a very small section of rosewood crossbanding missing to the top left hand corner of the top shelf. This should be evident on our image. It is extremely minor.
A 19th century mahogany four tier whatnot stand, with single drawer and raised on short turned feet. Width 43 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Maximum height 105 cm. Depth 42.5 cm. The piece is structurally very sound. The three quarter gallery is in good order as are all of the shelves. There are no significant cracks, splits or marks to any of the shelves. The drawer operates as it should. All turned supports are in good condition. The turned feet are original and in good order. There is one old liquid mark to the top left hand corner of the top shelf. The piece is in generally extremely good order.
