Willems (G), LES ANCETRES DE MES ENFANTS [The Ancestors Of My Children], an extensive typewritten and hand-illustrated genealogical history containing family trees, family crests and descriptive text relating to a French family with noble roots, 2 vols, three quarter leather, gilt embossed title and decoration to spines, marbled endpapers (2) (at fault) CONDITION REPORT:Both volumes show wear to the bindings, including scuffs and scratches to the spines, and shelf wear to corners and leading edges of the boards.  All pages show some age-related darkening and some also show areas of light foxing. Both title pages show foxing down the right edge.  Some pages show bleeding from the red block edge.  Page 1 is loose in volume I, and shows chips to the right hand edge.  PP2-5 are also partially detached.

A pair of Chinese lacquered crescent wall shelves, each gilt highlighted against a black ground with figures and pagodas, each with three folding shelves, 48cm high, with a further pair of rectangular lacquered wall shelves decorated with a scaly dragon and flaming pearl, 56cm high (4)Condition report2cm chip to the tip of one crescent wall shelf, one folding bracket lacking a pin and therefore loose, further 3cm chip to the underside edge of the same shelf.Both crescent shelves with minor chips and rubbing wear commensurate with age and use.Both rectangular wall shelves have hairline cracks, 10cm and 14cm long, some wear to the underside of the drilled aperture, the three hinged shelf brackets on one wall shelf show evidence of repairs and are loose.General rubbing and wear with minor multiple lacquer chips.

Oak dresser, second half of 18th century, two shelf delft rack, under a moulded canopy, the base with three frieze drawers, over two panelled doors, short stile ends, length140cm, depth 49cm, height 182cm.Qty: 1Condition report:There is actually a number of photographs in one of the drawers, taken in 2004, showing the dresser in a restorers workshop and from them, as well as in the flesh, you can see that all elements have some degree of repair, spliced sections, new lengths of moulding, drawer linings, and so on. The legs originally had shaped aprons, now just blocks. The end result of that restoration is a dresser retaining a very rustic look.

The rack detaches from the base. There are some old worm holes to the rack on the top edge. The top of the base has some chips and cracks to the top. The edges of the drawers area bit chippedi in places. Both draws move freely. Light ribbing and marking to the edges all over.
