Travels in the Morea, 3 vols., 1st ed., 1830, together with Peloponnesiaca: A Supplement to Travels in the Morea, 1st ed., 1846, together 4 vols., two large folding maps and twenty-eight engraved maps, plans and plates, some folding, uniform contemporary brown half calf, gilt decorated spines with contrasting labels, raised bands with Greek vase motif in compartments, slight shelf wear to extremities, 8vo Blackmer 974 (without the Supplement). Atabey 691 & 693. A highly important set including the scarce Supplement, giving a fascinating account of journeys carried out from February to May 1805 and February to May 1806. Leake was a member of the Society of Dilettanti, a Fellow of the Royal Society and of the Royal Geographical Society, and was Vice-President of the Royal Society of Literature. The binding of this set matches the Eton prize binding illustrated on page 357 in Atabey. (4)
