A pair of bedside cabinets, each with bowed front and single drawer with open aperture and raised on cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. Width 40 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Both cabinets are generally in good condition with no significant damage, no repairs and no restoration. Both have some minor blemishes and scuffs around the pad feet and one has faint ring marks on the shelf. There is no evidence of any woodworm. On one cabinet where the drawer front is dovetailed to the side rail there is slight movement and a timber loss to the upper edge. When the drawer is shut this is not visible.
An Edwardian inlaid mahogany and satinwood crossbanded dumbwaiter, with rear upstand, two drawers, open shelf and pair of cupboard doors, all raised on short turned legs terminating in castors. Width 106 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The dumbwaiter is in generally extremely good condition. It has a good original colour and there are no significant marks or stains to either of the shelved areas. The colour is generally very good. The only minor issue is that the castor to the left-hand rear leg is loose and there is a stress fracture part way up the rear leg. This is a minor issue which should be easily rectified. Height including upstand 124 cm, depth 43 cm.
A Victorian walnut secretaire bookcase, with moulded cornice above a pair of glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves and flanked by flat pilasters, the base with secretaire drawer above a pair of panelled cupboard doors and all raised on bracket feet. Width 112.5 cm, depth 52.5 cm, height 207 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Generally very good original condition. There is a tiny veneer nibble to the top left-hand corner of the cornice. The upper doors are not warped and close as they should. The shelf above the secretaire is of good colour and in very good condition. The secretaire drawer operates as it should and the interior is in very good order. The lock to the secretaire drawer is missing. The green baize writing surface is a little dusty and has one small hole in the fold. The doors beneath are not warped. The sides of the cabinet are in good order generally. The left-hand side has a book matched veneer repair to the bottom left-hand side. This has clearly been carried out a long time ago. There is a small loss to the front left-hand corner moulded edge above the bracket foot. The backboards are all original.
A William IV mahogany worktable with drop flaps, above a single drawer with embossed brass handles in turn above a sewing bag, all supported upon carved supports with lower tier and with lion paw feet. Width 47 cm (leaves closed), 79.5 cm wide (leaves open), 75.5 cm high, 44 cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: The table is in generally very good order. The top is well figured and of good colour. Both flaps are also in good condition. There is no warping. All four hinged supports are in good condition with no issues. The drawer front is in good order and runs smoothly. The cloth to the sliding bag is a little stained in places. The sliding bag operates smoothly. The side supports are both in good condition as is the lower shelf. All feet are structurally sound and secure. All have their recessed castors. There is no movement at the joints. The only minor issue is that the lock escutcheon on the dummy drawer is missing.
A set of Regency mahogany shelves, wall mounting, with convex fronts. Width 77 cm, height 96 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The shelves are structurally in good order. The cornice is in good condition all round. The moulding beneath the frieze is original to the front and right hand side but has been replaced on the left. Both sides are stained pine and have numerous old marks. All shelf fronts are mahogany and in good order. The serpentine sides have both had minor repairs. The right hand side has had the top 5 cm replaced and both have nibbles right at the bottom corners where they meet the wall.
A Gordon Russell & Son oak sideboard/buffet, the rectangular top with chamfered edges and supported upon inverted tapering octagonal supports above five short drawers with ebony handles flanked by panelled doors upon short feet, with applied Russell & Son, Broadway, Worcester label verso. 98.5 cm wide, 100 cm high, 44.5 cm deep (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The buffet is in extremely good structural condition. It is a good colour. The top is in good order with only a few very minor watermarks. The same comments apply to the shelf. The drawer and cupboard fronts are all in good condition but again have minor watermarks. The polish around the base of each leg is rubbed and a little dry. There is no evidence of any woodworm. Height 100 cm, maximum depth 45 cm, depth of top to front excluding corners 44 cm, height from floor to top of lower shelf 64 cm.
A tall blue lacquered waterfall open bookcase, the top with gilt chinoiserie decoration of a kneeling figure looking skyward through a telescope and flanked to either side by panels including writing quills and ink pots, each shelf and side with lip moulded decoration. Width 106.5 cm, height 222 cm, depth 38 cm.
A 19th century oak double cupboard, the upper section fitted with pigeonholes and shelves, the lower section with single shelf, the doors with brass knob handles and all upon bracket feet. 58 cm wide, 143.5 cm high, 40 cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: The cabinet is in generally good condition. There are no warps to the doors. The top right-hand drawer has a small loss to the left-hand moulded edge. The interior shelves are present. The bottom right-hand door has 2 small holes indicating a previous handle. The left-hand return base moulding is detached but we have the moulding. The bottom door is missing its lock.
A late 19th century mahogany turnover top card table, having a shaped rim with a baize lined interior with tooled leather edging above trellis fretwork brackets and shaped lower tiers upon slender carved legs terminating in scroll feet and united by a shaped lower shelf. 59.5 cm wide, 71 cm high.
A 17th century and later inlaid court cupboard, with undulating frieze carved with florets and foliage, supported on bulbous cup and cover supports, the central door flanked by two further doors with floral arches and columns framing inlaid foliage decoration above a carved door in turn above cup and cover supports and potboard base. Width 126 cm, height 123, depth 57 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The cupboard is in reasonably good condition it is however a little loose at the joints and there is movement when the piece is rocked from front to back. It is however serviceable. The top is constructed of planks which undulate and there is evidence of long gone very old woodworm. The frieze is in generally good condition all round. The centre door panel has some small pieces of inlay missing as do the right and left hand panels which also have stress fractures. The top of the base again has evidence of old long-gone woodworm. The frieze drawer beneath is very stiff. The left-hand bottom stile foot is a little soft to touch and appears to have woodworm which may still be active. The open potboard again is undulating and made from primitive planks. The right hand side middle shelf edge has a 3 cm square loss towards the rear. Again, there is evidence of old woodworm at this point.
A 19th century mahogany Pembroke table, with butterfly wing flaps and raised on tapered legs of square section terminating in toupie feet and with raised centre shelf. Width 72 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table top has numerous old surface scratches and small marks. There is also a small filler repair to the centre right. The right hand flap has a corner repair and a small loss. The left hand flap also has two corner repairs both at the rule joint side. The leaves are not significantly warped. The legs on the drawer side of the table are both in good order as is the shelf. The right hand facing rear leg has had a repair to the top lock. The left hand rear leg has some minor losses to the toupie foot.
