George III oak Welsh dresser, the back with moulded cornice, three fixed shelves, the base with four drawers above an arched frieze with baluster turned legs, open pot board base, width 221cm, depth 51cm, height 213cm.Condition report:Old splits following grain lines throughout, including the back planks, top (notably extending from the left hand side) and base planks. Historic worm activity to the planks on the back of the top. Historic patches of repair to lengths of moulding, cornicing, and outlines. Old stains and ring marks to the dresser top and pot board shelf. One of the drawer linings has been split and secured with tape. The other three are fine, although the felt-lining to the two cutlery drawers is tired, peeling, and torn in places. The pot board shelf has been cut across the entire width on a diagonal. Some of the fascia to the left front bracket foot is present, but loose, although not complete.
